I really like this drama. I'm hoping the ending isn't too bad otherwise, I might have a crash out and rate the show badly if angry emotions are too high lol I usually don't get mad easily. I heard Tushan Jing ends with her and I'm like okay with it, not a big fan because he just not it but the journey of the other characters makes up for the bad choice of end game. I'm hoping at the stage I'm in, her ending with him doesn't make me more annoyed than usual.
Favourite is Cang Xuan and Xiang Liu especially my hubby Cang Xuan, can't wait to see his transition from where am at. I like Xiaoyao too because she is very multidimensional female lead and even though her romances sucks with Jing, she makes up for it with the range of romantic gesture and very real girlhood issues.

I bet it was. I feel like people probably argued a lot on who they prefer. This kind of shows kinda attracts this kind of discussions like how StartUp did even though there weren't multiple leads. Just people who liked the second lead a lot so it stared a clash with fans of the main lead / second lead.

I'm not usually funny. I'm flattered. I wasn't into Cdrama much pre-2023. I would maybe watch like 1-2 Cdrama a year. Last year, I decided to watch like 6 shows and I've decided I'm going to lock in for 2025 and watch more and more Cdrama because Kdrama been boring for me lately. It feels like not a lot of good shows coming out.
Need to spare a moment for Xiaoyao, she had me CRYING when she cried for her mother. My heart always belongs to girls who are abandoned by their parents or believe they are. Those are my girlies. Xiaoyao having a hard time loving men because of this trauma. She keeps her heart guarded so much because she is afraid if she let anyone in, they might be ripped away from her and her heart will be broken again. Amazing performance from Zhang Zi. I'm also glad to see more of her sister. She actually have a heart and I'm starting to like her despite her acting like a spoiler brat still.
Anyway, back to the male leads.
60% - Xiang Liu: he fell first AND HARDER? My feelings with this guy is like a switch. Sometimes he gets in a way that I want to pull those hair strands! Makes me wanna hula hoop using those nine heads of his! Like when tried to use her sister and started listing outrageous shit! Don't come between sisters but then....
Not gonna lie, he got me when I finally clocked his tea. Tell me why is my man actually shy? It sounds ridiculous saying it like this but he actually touch starved? Dude just want affection??? Like you can tell when he DROWNED her to get a kiss.... What in the actual fuck sir? What are these unconventional means?? When he rocks the boat because he wanted her touch him even accidentally??? IJBOL??? FBI, it's this one, come get this criminal.

It's kinda annoying me that I'm slowly starting to actually dislike him. I don't want him to get the girl?? It's weird because he is not doing anything wrong. He is like the perfect man. Always there for her, always listen to her... He ticks all the right boxes. He is just bland. At least get revenge? Like damn. His storyline is very stagnant and the only thing that will move it is his brother coming to kill him again.
It's kinda obvious she likes him. She dressed up for him, she swam across to keep the promise for him, she KISSED HIM...girl... I mean there is nothing wrong with him so of course my girl will like him but but but but... Time to cast that voodoo doll and pray for their downfall. Abracadabra please let them break up.
%100 - Cang Xuan: He found out who she is.... those Delicious tears! Spent the entire night crying! Like who told you to be an asshole?? Who told you to break her leg? But I cried with him because you can tell he was DEVASTATED.. "In fact, you've already told me who you are. But I was just blinded by cruelty." PEAK! We have reached peak. Their reunion destroyed me with them.
"You are better than my best imagination." Oh my god, I'm on my knees. This is WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
I think what I liked the most is how platonic it actually was. It's not starting as romantic. Now, it's subtle in heading towards romantic feelings. The fact he knocked himself unconscious for the first time out of JEALOUSY? I can't wait to see more of my hubby.
The moment we have been waiting for, how much I like the male leads now that I've seen enough episodes (I know nobody was waiting lmao)
30% Xiang Liu:
He is not doing it for me so far. He is getting softer and there is still 52 episodes to redeemed his articous personality. He is a little too violent and it's currently one sided. I wish the female lead succeeded in poisoning him so it would balance that imbalance dynamic they have. Writer need to pull up some EXCEPTIONAL good writing to redeem him for me. Him brining supplies to save her and using his spirit power, is not enough. The future scenes needs to be gutwrenching and his background story so sad, I'll be sobbing for him.
But low-key, I can already predict what one of the plot point will be. They will reveal later on that her mom died killing his dad and likewise, his dad killed her mom which will cause a drift between them. It's not bad idea but let's see.
On a side note: He looks like actress Moon Ga Young.
60% Leaf Seventeen (this ridiculous name ðŸ˜): Honestly, we started so good with him but I'm slowly starting to not like him and I need the show to pull up with him. It's cute. I enjoyed the fact he was kind hearted begger, I thought the scene were he betrayed her reliability on him and his apology was well done. However, the miscommunication... I'm noticing he doesn't communicate or clarify SHIT and that he is turning into a simp who sole purpose is to just worship with the female lead while having zero to no personality outside of it and I'm not liking that.
There is still 52 episodes so he can't be like this throughout the entirety of the show so I'm crossing fingers.
90% Cang Xuan: At first I didn't gaf because I hate childhood friends trope and I never liked it. He searched for her for 300 hundred years and I was like eh, don't care. But now I do. Now, it's getting good. I found his character interesting from when his sister bullied someone and he didn't scold her. It was fascinating. He is a nice guy fundamentally but him not setting his sister straight kinda makes him a bad guy. But you know his trauma in not finding Xiayao kinda made him spoil his sister to the point she could be harming others and he would not GAF.
He is very multidimensional so it's was interesting but I truly started to root for him when he tortured Xiaoyao. This had me giggling because knowing he looked for 300 years yet he tortured her because he didn't know it's her had me GAGGED. I knew he would regret it immensely when he finds out. Even better when she placed the poisonous bug on him so every time she suffers he suffers... That sold me LMAO LIKE YES? MAKE IT TRAGIC? This plot point ate so bad. I'm hoping it will go up from here onwards.
Next time I'll do this for ep 20 to see if anything changed.
