Gotta say book readers are one of the most annoying because they are constantly spoiling the show when we haven't even reached that point.

When we say dubbing, do we mean the weird humour timing? Or was something wrong with the dubbing? I wasn't paying that much attention to the dubbing 😔

He was phenomenal there but I get sad everytime I hear someone say, "I can't watch his drama because he is still a villain to me." When Perfect Match was still airing, A lot of comments were like that. People had a hard time shedding away that role from him so I'm hoping these new, refreshing roles will change their views on him.

He was my favourite in Perfect Match. The 4th couple were my top out of all the couples there. It's one of his best role as a good guy but I'm waiting for him to get that "role" that changes your whole perception. Can't wait to see him in a main role in the future.

Listen, I understand Li Mo doesn’t understand what love is but I’m wiling to change that for him IJBOL I can’t take myself seriously sometimes but honestly, actor Yong Qi is underrated. His role in The Double did irreversible damage to the public image but I’m praying he will get a role so good, it will change everyone’s opinion. So far, I like him here.

Bailu is so freaking adorable. Yea, that's all I want to say. Like everytime I see her, she is just too cute and so pretty. She really have a lethal face card.

I think lovely runner production wasn't even costly either in comparison to some other dramas. It's just overall good writing, great actors, good production and it entertained the viewers without spending ground breaking budget on.

I'm sure actors with dedicated fans contributes to the viewers tuning in but a limit on the salary an actor can get per episode should be set so stories can be produced more and more without it destroying the industry because this year... Not much Korean dramas are catching my eyes. The only one I want to watch is When Life Gives You Tangerine because I heard the writing is immaculate. And so far, I'm not hearing much hype about Kdrama about good shows... I'm currently just on Cdrama train to satisfy my boredom from Kdrama.

I would say good actors aren't hard to find, it's really the writers and budget of set. They should be allocating a good budget to finding good writers or story because a good story literally make or break the drama. I've been watching so many dramas with top actors in it and if the writing isn't good, no actor will change that.

So true. I'm not as familiar with the Chinese industry so I don't really know who is the idols and who is not. Sometimes I may recognise them from Kpop but otherwise, I don't know just like I discovered Tan Jian C is a singer after I finished LYF and started Filter.

You can just tell he was writing whatever came to his mind and wanted it to be insulting because he didn't care who was going to read it. He didn't see him as a threat.

Him coming out of an acting school makes so much sense because his acting really is different and leagues above his female partner. I feel like sometimes people don't understand when I tell them I can tell when an actor is just acting but it's just that. Nothing stand out worthy. Like yes, they smile when they are happy and cry when they are sad but that's literally it. The acting doesn't seem to go outside of the box.

Actually, I'm enjoying the interactions more than the storytelling so you are right in that regards. It's really the leads that's making me go through it.

Yes, I'm surprised users here clocked it because he is basically destroying culture and conquering through force but with each empire having an empress, I feel like that's the author way to preserve culture somehow.


If it was before censorship then I got nothing to add but this is one of the things I always find confusing when most of the story is fictional but it got real people's name lol because out of everything, they could have just changed the identity.

I like Cdrama because of the length too actually. It feels like you have enough time to get to know the characters and get more plot fleshed out. But when you watching multiple back to back, you can also drop the ones that good and enjoyable but nothing exceptional.

Yea, I'm fine with it having no angst lol I enjoyed the angst here doesn't mean I want to see it every time. Definitely need that breather moment. And yes, I actually am watching Are you the one. It's actually good but it's nothing great. I feel like the show have many great moments but I also feel like it's lacking somewhat. I do, however, enjoy the actor skills. I can tell now that he is a great talent and actually have so much potential. His acting is not one dimensional.

Huai Yang keeps flaunting his PhD. Almost every damn episode, he is reminding me he have PhD in gaslighting Lmao we are hitting royalty waters now. It's like I'm witnessing his dissertation on how to manipulate everyone like SIR, how do you keep getting away with thiiisss???? Gaslight others sooo good, he accidentally gaslight himself too early on when he was like, "I'm not here to play house." Excuse me? You are the one who pretending to be her husband IJBOL

This dude never missed a single opportunity, I'm crrrrying. Broke his leg and sir can't even believe he accidentally did it yet immediately started yapping about how he is crippled now and needs to marry the princess ASAP to get rid of a royal decree.

Also ever since he came to Beizhou, it's been funny lowkey. Lord of Beizhou been spying on him, thinking every move was a threat or scheme while Huai Yang was busy trying find ways to woe his girl back. The joooookes. And the fact it was a very great and working strategy for some reason is killing me. Them as a pair are hilarious especially when Lord Beizhou was saying he let him have his troops to "win his woman back." And of course, our gaslighting king respond, "Why did you offend Prince Sui AGAIN? Now you can only go to the capital." I've no words. An unexpected funny duo.

Gotta give props to my girl. She finally got a fight scene here and she slayed. Why aren't they giving us more of this. Need to see her fight more but I'm sure budget played a role.

My favourite romantic so far gotta be when she stabbed him with the pin, he pulled it out, wiped his blood off and put it back on her hair. Cook.

Yea, yea, they wanted that Lost You Forever for EVERYONE 🤣 the writer really said spare no one! It's kinda odd funny. Very idealistic message but it's fictional so anything can happen.


I did hear it was based off something but like I'm confused why didn't she go full fictional instead of making it a mythical version of an existing empire? This really causes censorship. Like nobody needed to know who was referenced because doesn't follow through it completely?

I think I reached a point where I need a break from Chinese drama because of how long the episodes are and how it's like an investment each time to start. Been watching multiple back to back to back like a lunatic. I'm likely to give Go East chance before this one because detective/police/investigation type of shows I don't like. I find them very predictable which makes me less impressed to watch.

Under the skin? I was going to skip it as I'm not into modern drama that much but I'll keep it in my mind since you recommended and it had good ratings.

It was so common (I noticed new drama aren't doing this fity million blood spitting so I'm assuming the audience complained ENOUGH). I completely forgot how someone like her might find it so odd because I was used to seeing it in multiple dramas. Cheng Yi was almost on par but I think no drama beats this one in the blood spitting.
