Girl is talking so much smack for someone who can't do anything at all. I'm always impressed with these characters because they have nothing, no resources, no intelligence, nothing to make stand out, their whole plans heavily dependent on someone else yet still have the audacity to talk so much shit. Female leads like that are much harder for me to like because you need to at least back up your words with something. The only thing I like about her so far is the lengths she will go for family or to repay a debt but that's about it.
I'm going to watch all 8 episodes to give this show the benefit of the doubt because so far, the 2 episodes I've seen is looking very grim for this show. Like I'm not impressed at all, like I'm very stunned that this failed writing is coming from the same writer as Moving. Let me watch the rest of the 6 episodes so I can see if it can be redeemable at all.
I haven't seen Seo Kang Joon since forever. It feels like he disappeared for a while. People had the biggest second lead syndrome during Cheese in the Trap. I might check this drama out now that he is back.
Someone please tell me the princess improves? I can tell they are doing a bit of a parallel with the Princess and Yang Ling showing how they are both very similar too each other and that's why they are perfect together. She is the person who understands him, the him that doesn't like formality and freedom. However, I don't really like her still. Yang Ling/Xu Qian is great because while he is childish, lazy, and a troublemakers, he also resourceful, insightful, always looking for ways to win people over or putting himself in better position. That cunningness makes up for his faults and makes it funny.
She, on the other hand, is just childish, lazy and doesn't look for ways to improve herself making me like her less. She is pretending to be her sister but is not putting efforts into actually creating a big plan. Yang Ling is an idiot to fall for her trap but I'll give him the grace that he didn't know how she looked so it made sense for him to fall over a small trick.
I really hope she improves because she is having more screentime and I want it to be deserved.
Yup!First few episodes were very good with some really intriguing, gripping and very promising set up.Then around…
So I need to lower my expectations even more than I already did? I was hoping this would be my drama of the year and I was ready to recommend but honestly, can't even tell you how disappointed I am by the second half.
I've been dodging reading the comment or looking in social media to avoid spoilers. I have to say I'm at episode 9.
The first 5-6 episodes were phenomenal. Amazing chemistry, great storytelling, exceptional dialogue, the vibe was so good and it was really giving a 9 out of 10 because it hits so different. It was up my alley and the mature, kinda of low-key toxic but so well done romance. The male lead giving the yearning for love vibes that everyone is looking for... it was all of the right buttons. I was loving it.
Then I'm watching the rest of the episodes and the writing is becoming more of a mess in the second half. The quality is no longer the same, the chemistry sizzling down, the female lead a little too demsel in distress.... I expected more contributions from the female lead. I feel like it would have tied in so NICELY if the female lead started making threats at the RIGHT person. I was waiting for her to take charge and use her voice to blackmail all the right people. They really missed the opportunity to utilize her character setup. As for the male lead, what happened to him being the person who knew what he is doing? Looks like he doesn't know how to proceed anymore? Wtf happened? I'm so upset, it's not even funny. The way it started is just so good, I want it to maintain the level of quality for the rest of the show.
What they are doing to him is so not fair. I get it's comedy but I can't help but feel my heart ache that they are locking him up for basically money. I'm sure ML positivite attitude and always looking for ways to solve things will turn the tables around in the future but the original body did suffer some injustice in my opinion. He got a rundown room to stay in, everyone treats him like a good for nothing like no wonder he was silent. I'm laughing at the humour but at the same time, it's kinda messed up if I really thought about it. The show is really funny tho. It's also dark humour in some aspects.
LMAO Song Mo friend, that one that looks a little bit like actor Kim Min Jae, is funny. The way he was taking the people who were criticising Song Mo (during the funeral scene) and beat them up... Like because of this, he quickly climbed up my favourite character ranks after Song Mo and Duo Zhao.
I like how Mr. Zhang have been string along for so long by our protagonist. He is being used as a pawn by Yan for a while now but he doesn't mind it because he genuinely believe in justice. He believes in the justice system so firmly that he just let himself be pulled with them in their journey and I just appreciate his character a little more now than before. I feel like even Yan have learned to like him. He usually have his walls raised up so high but he been lowering it as witness the honesty and earnest efforts put by Mr. Zhang and Daunwu.
I also like how even our antagonist Cui Shijiu, have been perversing so much, trying to beat Yan at his own game, but also learning the cruelty of life and what peole are going through. I feel like she learned some compassion along the way and isn't as bitter over the loss as she used to be. Instead, it feels like maybe her outcome will be different. We will find out eventually if she will remain a sore loser or become a better leader.
I finally finished this and I would like to warn any new comers when they watch this, to NOT READ THE COMMENTS…
With that being said, my negative would be the ending. I feel like I didn't feel that true sense of justice I was looking for. I wanted to see the actual criminal get treated as an outcast the way the main character was. It wasn't as fulfilling just seeing them in jail, I wanted everyone to vilify the criminal. But we didn't get that so it was underwhelming a little bit.
The acting was so great. Everyone pulled their weight so well. I would say the weakest writing had to be for the main character and actor Yohan. I expected more from him. I feel like I didn't get the full extent of the rage of someone who was wrongly accused. Even his dialogue seemed so off. It feels like a script written when it came to him. Again, that's where it was underwhelming for me. Everyone else, however, amazing writing for them..
I finally finished this and I would like to warn any new comers when they watch this, to NOT READ THE COMMENTS SECTION.
I can't speak too much about this without spoiling too much. So I will just say, it was a amazing show. I started it on the fence because I don't like crime shows, they are so predictable and repeatitive. This show gave something completely different. It was phenomenal.
As for the negatives, I'll put it down below in a spoiler so don't read unless you watched the show.

I'll give this a 8/10
