She is the best. The beatings could have been toned down but they were aiming for the chaotic, over the top plotline and I think since the actress is young, they couldn't add more romantic scenes so they filled it with her beating everyone up.

The first few episodes did unreversible damage. The amount of people that rated it so lowly now it will be hard to bring up the ratings. At most, we might be able to bring it up to 8.3 but I'm not so sure anymore.
Omg, I'm going to cry. Mama Li came for her little daughter and little son and his broke ass family too. They are already her family so it was without questions she will help them. My hearttttttt, I'm so touched by her act.
And one of the greatest moment is when Yang Xian was about to ran into the fire to save his wife. That scene was so romantic. Every since I found out the actress of Leshan is 17 year old, I knew we won't be getting much "romance" during her arc. It was going to be just sweet moment and plot driven but that moment was really romantic. It's the subtle act of sacrifice. Leshan already accepted him as her husband every since she came to defend him. She just couldn't get over the kidnapping part that's why she wanted to make things difficult but in the end, she wants him to win.
I thought it was funny he will accept ANYONE from the family Li to stay with him 😂 he really wanted that protection but you know what? Leshan might be harsh but I feel like that's exactly what's setting this family straight. For once, he actually fighting through his fears and putting himself out there. They do something that makes you confused, that raise a red flag but they completely green flag, will put their lives on the LINE for the wives, will defend their wives, they will do ANYTHING for her, they always on standby for their wives. The royal family approval to marry her kidnapper really put her in a position where she can't even leave so she won't offend his "majesty". Based on this circumstance, I can hardly say Leshan will look at him like a he is the good person especially considering he made a bet early episodes over the finding the eldest sister and wanted to forcibly look at her face. She beaten him enough to compensate and I would say they match each other especially when he push her around too and getting his payback. It's all temporary for me because I know she will eventually take his side and fight for him.

I actually had that vision too lol a sequel where the sisters in the modern day are going through struggles and each BILs have some sort of position with Yang Xian being the son of big company from a generational wealth, Shen a detective/police officer/politician, DYX a lawyer/someoe underneath a politician, Master Chai owning a big، successful business, as for 2nd husband.... The deadbeat husband that cheats on his wife that nobody likes. I mean it doesn't even have to go this way, it will be cool to get a unique settings but the same personality.

I loved Shouhua arc and I love angst but for her arc, I wished they added more breather moments in between and gave more scenes after the reconciliation because DYX is completely smitten and IS the type to act cute to get attention. It's a bummer for me that it ended that way but I still enjoyed it a lot. Like you said though, it's preference. People who liked cute moments and detective/little mysteries will like 4th couple, people who likes wits, smarts and pranks will like the 3rd couple more. People who like angst and melodrama will like the 1st couple and people who like enemies to lovers will like the 5th. There is a type for everyone.

The idea of them beating him under just seems so funny to me "Outside, I may have authority but here, my wife is the 4th." They completely fell in line into the brother-in-law hierarchy which is 3rd brother, Master Chai, in the highest authority, 1st, DYX, in the 2nd place and 4th, Shen, taking 3rd because that useless 2nd husband moves no one let's be real here. This development is fascinating.
I also LOVE how mama took Yang Xian in as her actual son. She no longer gaf about what happened, she there to pamper her Son-in-Law over even her daughter! I like how one small word of kindess was enough to move Yang Xian and he IMMEDIATELY started relying and calling mama Li for any help. She is completely smitten but so is he. She already his mom too.
She didn't come to get bullied, she came to bully! I had so much fun watching her beat everyone up and it seems it's not only me but even her husband was enjoying the show. He gets extra points for defending his wife in front of his family and friends even though he is shitty person too but it seems like he is against his family somewhat.
Not gonna lie though, I bursted out laughing when I saw them keep swapping around drugged cups not knowing they were giving the drug to themselves 😂 talk about digging your own grave.
I like how Shen didn't ask any questions and immediately went to action and prepared a wedding. Haode finally got her proper wedding day.
Speaking of wedding... what a chaotic wedding day! No way they just started fighting in the middle of the road. I support my 5th brother in law stealing his woman because that "husband shyer than bride" Mr. He will kill my Leshan shine and personality. He is NOT suited for her. His family will destroy her. She is not meant to follow tradition and customs!
And, and, I support Leshan beating him to bloody plups for that. Get em gurl!!! I support woman's rightful violence. He deserved it. She looked beautiful and stunning. My baby girl slayed. This is the arc I was looking forward to seeing since episode 1. Leshan never stopped being my favourite since that episode.

And with that we concluded Haode and Shen's arc *claps excitedly* love it! Love it! Even though they resolved their issues, you can JUST TELL he misses her already. He is deep in that love that he was pushing away aggressively. He completely erased my image of him from The Double. Amazing acting from both Ke Ying and Liang Yong Qi.
I know a lot of people hated the fact you can't see the other characters as much with every new arc but I think that's the beauty of it? When DYX came and threw a tantrum and scolded him while he sat there in SILENCE... Those are my brother-in-laws that I know. I miss my gang. I miss my Master Chai too. Need them back for the next arc
