I enjoyed your perspective too because you mentioned that he holds others to a standard he won't hold himself. It's very true but I also feel like that's because she was doing it on purpose, giving ridiculous ruling just to kill. If if was a victim who ended up murdering someone, maybe he would had more empathy and less hypocrisy because of their circumstances.
Han Da On was the most pathetic and annoying character in the entire show for me. I was genuinely happy when his…
Frankly, I enjoyed his character progression the most. I feel like it's very on tune with an actual victim of a tragedy. He struggled with himself to come in terms with his family's death and not feeling at fault. At some point, he must have wanted to JUST catch the killer because he grew up among cops. He became an officer to catch him and "believed in the justice system". You can tell all the family of the victims of the serial Killer J wanted to kill serial killer J. That feeling will always be there but nobody wants to go there and kill him with their own two hands. It's not a choice people make easily. For Han Daon, what happened to him was when he was a child but as he grew older he must have lived with the concept of law. Although we realize that "justice" is not for everyone. And Justitia proved that by giving all these criminals a low sentence than prosecuting them properly for the crimes they have committed. It must have confirmed to him that relying on the law didn't give anyone any justice but he clung into the concept that most people adopt. That the law SHOULD side with the victim. "Justice should prevail" but it never did in this show. The criminals had strong connection and Justitia personal mission made her ruin all of the rulings. She thinks killing them was justice (which a lot of people today would disagree, that's why the death sentence is not promoted in the justice system)
What I liked was the realistic switch up. He might have accepted being wronged and victimized three times with his mom, dad, and brother but now he prefers to let his deep resentment actual ran. He doesn't need to feel powerless when he can take matters into his own hands so when his 2nd mother figure was murdered, the switch flip. It was the final straw. I love the descent to madness because at the end, even when she killed the detective, satan, and serial killer J, Han Daon, geninuely, didn't give a damn that she killed them. He supported her regardless of what she did because criminals dying no longer mattered to him. He became like her in a way.
It's was a fascinating and the most interesting character development. I'm sick of two goody shoes preaching how everything needs to be done by the law. We have too many dramsa with them anyway.
And lasty, I'm sure there is many Han Daon in the comment section too if this actually happened in real life. I think this shows how humane he is.
Season 2 should have Bael as a main character with a new, fresh plotline for him while Justitia story being as a side story that entwines at the end. Writer would cook if she made it like that because just having Justitia alone going through the same thing as S1 will just be too repetitive and boring. She should also explore hell and heaven, creating more new characters and dynamics that also includes the angel. But I doubt that will ever happen so I don't have any expectations of there even being a S2.
It was a good ending. I think it gave the happy ending everyone wanted but I really wish Kdramas pushed the boundaries for endings even further.. Like this drama could have benefited more from a very dramatic ending. They could have thrown Han Daon in hell, had her rescue him, going through some trials but I figured they won't go down that route. The writer already made something different by having the female lead and male lead morally grey on the good side so I'm not complaining that much. Very predictable show but also enjoyable.
I feel like Bael is still testing her. Like the whole point he sent her to earth was for her to not rush killing criminals and actually make listen/ makeFAIR judgement. I'm curious to see how the last two episodes will play out.
I haven't caught up yet but Justitia might be the best character of the year. Pregnant lady slips down the stairs and Justitia caught her and the first thing that came out of her mouth is, "Careful, you almost hurt ME." I'M SO OVER HER. Funniest morally grey character.
Thanks. Didn't know there was a difference between netflix original and netflix collaborating with other network companies before but I think now I do.
In the beginning i thought you were going to say that the main leads had chemistry and was telling to myself,…
I'm actually the male lead fan I watched almost all of his dramas except 2. I'm glad you liked him even if I didn't think he was the strongest here. Oh yes, Jae Jun was also great. It's a shame to hear people actually hated and harass the actor for playing bad role.
I just started this drama. I've seen 2 episodes so far but in tiktok, I've seen so many people complain about the male lead role and how he intervenes in her plans. A lot of people were saying they would prefer if he wasn't in the show but from what I've seen, if there is no male lead, the story would be so predictable and kinda boring. It's 14 episode long and there was a reason why he is there, to fill the time of the story so it's won't be so tedious to watch. I'll continue to watch to see if the criticism holds some weight but I do believe he is an essential character.
The actors must be comfortable with each other to act a lot of the cringy lines. I see the similarities with Extraordinary you but to be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan. I feel like it has potential but there is no real build up. It's just meant to be enjoyed in a very surface level. It's a shame I felt nothing for what's happening despite the fact the 2nd Lead couple were my favorite from NGNL. I was so invested in them, they kept me watching the episodes as fast as I could but not here. Spice Up My World Novel really was... lmao the hate comments made sense even though I thought he was such a loser to be a hater but the story wasn't giving plot for sure. Definitely survived for being a smut story. The spin-off did salvage it by having the lead go into the world of her story but again, everything is just summarized.
Do I need to watch No Gain, No Love before spice up our Love?
There is a connection between the original set up about who they were before but otherwise, no. I personally prefer them as a couple in No Gain No Love then this. There is barely any real substance to the story to fully enjoy this spin-off.
This ending was so bad. We really had to squeeze in one last conflict that made no sense just so we can spend the last 10 minutes resolving it? The sigh I let out seeing another one of those lame ending. We need to get rid of them completely because we either commit to the conflict or we don't write it in the first place and give the show a proper ending.
This is my first drama with Shin Min Ah. I've been watching Kdramas for more than ten years but none of her dramas caught my attention. I knew she existed but I wasn't interested. But she is a really good actress when it comes to crying. Every cry have volume and done in different tone. Most actress I know don't cry in range.
I have yet to finish this drama and it have to be the most refreshing drama that came out in a long while. I feel like the writer really was writing for fun and it's just enjoyable.
I'm going to go off in a rant but why do parents act like this? Sure this is a fictional story but I know there are parents just like that in real life too that act even worse than this drama. This drama have some positivity you won't see in real life but I geninuely baffled by parents like this. I get it, her mom loves her and this is her way to show she loves her and I know parents have flaws too, they are not perfect but her daughter is literally 30+ and worked in a big company for 10+ years... It shouldn't be such a big deal if she wanted to not work anymore in that same company. Since it's a corporate company, you don't understand the amount of stress that could build up over time. Like her brother was allowed to be a bum but the moment the daughter quit, it was life ending?????? You would think she chose to be jobless for year or so. She just wanted a break to pick herself back up. The whole fight was so unnecessary. She is not even asking you to pay for shit. She just wants a BREAK! She doesn't need to give a speech about how life was hard for her, it should be UNDERSTOOD before it even LEAVES HER MOUTH. You knew she excelled her whole life, she is allowed fall, allowed to fail, allowed to quit, allowed to spend time doing nothing so she can pick herself back up!
When she asked to be a cook, they once again, acted like the end of the world. "It's such a hard, unrewarding job! You will struggle." Do you actually care if she struggled? Y'all thought she quit for "no reason". I don't think the concept of struggle is comprehended. She is paying for it.
God, the mom pissed me off. She displays favouritism AND is tone deaf.
I saw a clip of the job interview scene in tiktok and came to see how many episodes it have... And it just started yesterday??? I guess I have to let this one marinate too for 4 weeks before I watch it.
