I find some of the characters endearing especially the Queen and the consorts. With the prince, they didn't leave much impact for me with the exception of Prince Bogeum.

I think it's because it's a historical drama with modern day solutions. It appeals for many peopl here but for me, it's doesn't. None of the decisions would have went far in actual history. I didn't hate it, I enjoyed a good portion of it but it's okay drama for me.

Hmm something about this feels lacking for me. I like the show but I can't place my finger what's leaving me dissatisfied. I don't dislike shows for being predictable but this tried to be right as much as possible that it was iffy. History is merciless. No one leaves unscathed. It felt like the show, itself knew, there will be no serious consequences with the way it went. Ex: Two Grand Princes were taking the contest lightly despite their lives on the line, queen is always there to save everyone, king reveals truth regardless, etc. With that being said, this is supposed to be a feel good drama where everything get packaged nicely with a ribbon bow so I understand why people like it.

Thanks for letting me know. Guess I won't have to wait long for this drama to end.

Omg the grandma is hilarious. The actress who plays her is so good. "Save the men first." I'M DEAD!! Niaon Niaon face at that. My god. I usually would find characters like that extremely annoying because of their favoritism but the series does well in focus on it only for comedic purpose.

She is right. Everytime their corruptions come up, he justify it by saying they are family or they were confused... like he have no sense of reality. The mistake your ucle made killed soldiers. It's like he is not aware they are human all because he is "forgiving". He is better off a commoner. I just don't want his family to die over it.

Episode 37

Oh boy.... I'm going to say something controversial... but the way Ling Buyi delivers revengee is sexy. He goes over and beyond. It's moments like this that makes me shocked. It's finally setting to me why Shaoshang fears him a little. I already knew he would go the extra mile for her but that was more than my expectations.

Episode 33

I have enough of the crown prince. Literally I can't see how he is noble for allowing corruption? Just because it's his uncle from his wife side, doesn’t make it good. I'm at a point where if the Third Prince stole the seat, I would thank him... the only reason I want good things for the crown prince it's because losing it would put such great risk to the family.

What a ride... it's been a while since I've seen a drama where I actually thought the couple had chemistry together. This is the first drama I'm giving a 9. The female lead is so likeable. I love her carefree and cunningness. I wish we get more well written female characters like her. I really enjoyed how it felt like the story was progressing with her life. A journey through her eyes. I giggled, I swooned and I cried a little. I love the general's character too. It was enjoyable to see him try so hard to blend in with her family. I'm going to start season 2 now.

Greed and past insecurities made her do this. She is constantly projecting her past into her present. When she thinks of Queen, instead of seeing her daughter-in-law, she thinks she needs to overthrow her because "she" never got to be "queen" at first. So now anyone who becomes queen needs to be replaced so she can feel good about herself, her action, like only people like "her" should be queen. It's weirdly like a justification.

I personally feel like SC and YH never paid the price they were supoosed to pay. SC got it easy.

Nothing too major but YJ never gets with SC because SC always like JH. Also I think the stepmom actually is an interesting character. You should put off hating on her. She is snobbish but she isn't evil. You will see when you get there. I actually like how she hates her husband and actually find him pitiful in many occasions.

Lol harsh but true. I find myself enjoying romance when there is actually a plot that also focus on something else.

No, not the 2 seasons... lol but I wouldn't mind it as long as they do it like AOS. Having 2 seasons in one year is better than no confirmation or waiting over a year for the next.

I find it abit cruel to dislike TY more than SC considering he is the one who got his life stolen. His heart was rich because that's also a price to pay for taking his. He was never supposed to live poor in the first place. His real family is wealthy. The person who stole it OF COURSE have to make it easier if he wants his parents to live on better conditions. If I'm honest, TY is actually the biggest victim. Not only did a poor person steal his life, they STOLE his FATHER'S life and gave him years of abuse, manipulation, and screwed up his personality. If his father didn't switch, he would have a loving family and he wouldn't have treated SC poorly from the fake father abusing his authoritative figure on him. Might made him more compassionate to his friends. Regardless, I liked your comment because I enjoyed it and your points were well put together. I disliked the message of this drama too.

The ending was hilarious. Unfortunately though, I didn't like the romance and how some of the plot was executed.

For me, I get triggered when a decision makes no sense. Like the female lead in Golden Spoon when she still chose the guy after everything.

Problem with kdramas, lots of 3rd party females are just annoying, manipulative snakes. So I understand why you dislike them.

I'm planning to skip it. I'll just watch the historical drama that's currently airing and I'll wait for Island next month. Dahee is also female lead there and Namgil is the main lead. Namgil usually doesn't pick awful projects so I put my trust in him.
