I dislike all the female characters in this drama. I can't decide who is worse. Morally, Su Ying character is…
I haven't seen any other version but Xiaoyuer did need some character development. They could have done better with both FL I don't know why Chinese drama love to create characters who fell in love at first sight. It feels weird.
I would say the gore isn't that bad. If you don't mind spoilers, I'll tell you what to expect.
The gore is pretty easy in the later episodes. But in the first episode, you gotta prepare yourself mentally. If you can handle short scenes of beheading then you are safe. Although @42:30 and end at 45:55 (you can skip), one of the guys cooks the dead boy body and feeds it to the starving people. He lied and said it was a deer but the female doctor finds out it's not. So if you handle this, I think you are set to go.
Just to make sure you are okay, there was only ONE scene where they show the guy getting his stomach ripped. You can close your eyes if you can't handle it.
Just started this drama and I swear historical c-dramas have the most selfish characters in history. Lots of these characters action don't make sense. The mother is hurting her son intentionally just so she can frame the other son for it... there is nothing wrong with their relationship yet it might have problems cause of these actions.
Reading the reviews is making me debate if I'm in the mood for tragedies right now. I think I'll watch this is a much slower pace than what I'm used too.
Honestly, I like Xiao Yuer with Tie Xinlan better only because of her better personality. Su Ying is such a disgusting…
I dislike all the female characters in this drama. I can't decide who is worse. Morally, Su Ying character is annoying and undeserving of loving someone as kind as Xiaoyuer (knowing she is much worse in the novel). Any female who doesn't respect her partner decisions of not wanting to kill the people he love is just a no for me (her personality is fun tho) but in general, Tie Xinlan is a worse character in almost all the departments. Xinlan got a trait I love to see in female characters, the ones who "doesn't care if she died". I love female characters like that yet that is the VERY reason is why she is the most annoying one. Talk about irony. She is useless, she gets in the way ALL the TIME. I don't think I ever remember her actually being useful in this drama and I binge watched all 44 episodes. Her only purpose in this drama is to throw her life away for any reason, at any moment like that's the only personality she have. She is a martial artists yet gets beaten all the time and ends up causing harm than good. She also can't seem to read between the lines and believes every lie Wuque/Xiaoyuer said like she doesn't know they do it for a purpose. If I looked the definition of damsel in distress, her name will be there. The male leads deserved better love interests. It's a shame they ended up with these women.
I also quite liked the pairing but I wish the romance developed a bit earlier and I didn't like how Yu'er said…
This an issue I had with the pairing. It feels like Yu'er doesn't love anyone. He doesn't treat any of the female characters differently instead he treats them all the same which is why I don't like his romance. It's feels one sided.
Season 2 is confirmed! I'm pretty excited since the third season promised a lot of great story telling from all three sides. I'm hoping that they fixed my biggest issue which is Eunseom character development and screentime. We need more Eunseom in s2.
This wasn't a bad watch. I enjoyed some of it but I don't know why I wished they took a different approach with this. It would been interesting if they were neighbors by coincidence and that the Al had many models but our main lead just happened to sign up for it years ago (for money) but forgot all about it. That's just an idea that came across my mind because I wanted her to see him when she finally was able to recognize his face but he was hiding himself from her all this lol
When everyone got those Holo glasses and they started neglecting their human lifestyle really put you in perspective. I doubt technology is going to get this advanced anytime soon but it felt pretty realistic. I can see people breaking up because their significant other isn't as perfect as Holo. It makes us look pitiful. This could have been a psycholoical or thriller sifi if the writer wanted it.
Because there is no such thing as a "perfect" movie or drama. Just like how humans aren't perfect either.
True. I feel like it should be fine to have people critique it without getting bothered by it. It's not like a show suddenly becomes bad just cuz there people who don't like it. We all have our opinions and we all have shows we enjoy and may not enjoy.
Just to make sure you are okay, there was only ONE scene where they show the guy getting his stomach ripped. You can close your eyes if you can't handle it.
