I don't really watch movies often but every once in a while I would watch what's popular (Train To Busan, Along With The Gods, etc) after seeing how this movie won 4 Oscar, I went ahead to see it. It's was a good movie, alhough it does remind me why I don't enjoy them that much. They are great story tellers but when it comes to characters, I can't feel any attachment nor do I care about them that much. If anything happens to them, it doesn't mean much. It only works as shock value. For me, characters are as important as the story.
With that being said, it's good to see it winning. Now more Asian dramas are exposed and can get world wide recognition. I can't hate a good representation so thanks Parasite for helping.
Can agree why some people might dislike Seol Ah. Not sure why the ex husband deserves better, a cheat, throws…
I said what I said because I don't believe in love either. I can put myself in her shoes all day long, it won't change the fact she is foolish, selfish and ambitious for the wrong things. She had a stable job, working as a main host with good income but instead of saving up the money, she slurped it all up by pretending to be someone she is not just to find "rich people" to marry. Sure, it's a nice deal to hear that someone could convince you to love them back but frankly speaking, if you are someone who don't believe in love and you don't see any progress in 2 years then it's just hopeless. I don't need 9 years+ to be convinced I'm gonna like a guy I know I am unable too. It called being foolish. Because it's obvious if you can't ever see someone romantically after knowing them for years then you never will. Otherwise you will be foolish. And she survived 9 years NOT because she believed she will be convinced but because she still gets his wealth.
The worst case scenario is marrying a wife beater who is also a womanizer for a lifetime instead of 9 years. If she was willing to make that decision then that's ON HER. And that's what she did. If anyone who is losing, it's the one who wanted love from a relationship that is in it for wealth. Of course that's on him too.
I can officially say that everyone in the Na family are undeserving of love except Hae Jun. Hae Ri's rare and only small chance of redeeming herself flew out of the window. Her character wasn't that great to begin with but I was willing to be happy for her because at least she was taking initiative... she once again ruined it in this episode. She was the one who was pressuring WooJae for MANY EPISODES so for her to back off after all that drama is like...????????? Stop making half-assed decisions.
I know right! Everytime I saw him it made me so angry ... and the "fun music" that came up in every scene with…
Forreal. I'm glad at least he is doing something now that I no longer need to skip his scenes however, his reasons for hating his middle daughter for 9 years is still not justified just because "he didn't know". Nobody attempts to suicide for "fun".
i am only watching the first ep right now, can someone tell me if Bang Eun Ji and Gam Poong Ki will eventually…
I'm up to date and I'm not sure. Everyone in the cast seems to ship Eun Ji and Poong Ki but they both are chasing after luxury hardcore. I don't think it's completely hopeless but don't go in with high expectations.

I agree with a lot of your points. 9 years into a relationship and it's still a loveless relationship? Most people can't survive that. I don't like cheaters myself. I despise them but I don't understand why anyone would get mad that someone you DON'T LOVE is searching for love. I would have been annoyed with him if she actually loved him at some point but she NEVER did. She wanted his money and she still gets his money whether he loves her or not. That still fulfills her deal. This whole situation is one big irony. She got mad that he cheated (even though she don't care about his love) but then she was begging his mother-in-law to let her stay by his side, was thinking of many ways to stay in the marriage, she wanted to hide his affair, etc... that shows that his affair didn't matter that much. If he wasn't in a coma for a whole year and woke up in 2 weeks, I bet she would have still stayed married to him. How can she expect trust and devotion if his cheating wasn't enough to push her away? Lol the moment she found out, she should be divorcing him but we clearly know that she had to be dragged pathetically many times to divorce him.
That is enough for me to know this isn't an issue of morality. It's not as black and white as everyone is making it out to be. A lot of people seem to forget that she was willing to be with a man who "beats up his wife" and is a"player" in the beginning of the drama.
I'm on episode 72 of this drama and how Kang Shi Wol handles Jin Woo's mom, well, I laughed so hard I almost fell…
Shdyidirnrf I'm about to reach ep 50 lmao! So I haven't reach the part where the mom goes crazy yet! I can't wait till we get to this Shi Wol! He seems like an interesting guy!
This drama is like struggling to decide WHO you HATE more than who you love more. My pace have slowed down from how obnoxious all these characters are. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HAERANG! How the fuck did she get such sweet father and brothers but she is the complete OPPOSITE??? She wants forgiveness but at the same time, doesn't give a shit about it. How do you want people to forgive you but DO NOTHING but cause the victims more pain? I swear CheongAh better NOT forgive her.
Give it some time. You'll be throwing things at judge mama.
Forreal! This writer really took the challenge of creating the worst people in the world in one drama. Honestly, they all need the whole mental hospital next to their houses.
