the difference between him and his uncle is that his uncle never takes on 3 highly trained assassins at once. I dont have a problem with his ability to defend himself. why are you choosing to ignore the main issue I've stated. have you watched Dear Hongrang. in that show, Hongrang fights about 20 assasins at once, im not even kidding ๐. but i didnt question it because he is a trained killer himself. he's undergone far harder training than everyone he encounters, so even if i know its not possible in real life, I can still accept it but this is literally A KING. hes never gone through the kind of training that assassins go through.even if he's received combat training, IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO FIGHT PEOPLE WHO'VE BEEN TRAINING PROFESSIONALLY FOR YEARS. I don't know how else to explain this to you. okay, let's use Mr Queen for example, assuming you've seen it. the king there had a very difficult childhood, and he received advanced combat training because he was actually planning to battle his enemies one day. its all about good character writing, and this show didn't write his character well enough to explain or justify his advanced combat skills. he just had them for plot. you know I'm right. you jist like the show too much to admit it, and that's alright ๐

โleading a purgeโ didnโt mean he personally took up a sword and fought enemies in the palace. He simply ordered the arrest, exile, or execution of political rivals. and please, you can't seriously be trying to compare the basic, casual training he received to the years of diverse, arduous training carried out by an actual assassin. dancing and archery are carried out by royals recreationally, at their leisure. he may not simply "sit down and do nothing", but no amount of training he received would suffice to stand in a fight against trained killers, talk less of three at once. that is unless he was a warrior king, which we know he was not. I can let it slide cos the entire show is just ridiculous, but you trying to frame it as something truly possible is just laughable.
I feel like this show had a 10 episode script, and they used flashbacks and heavy editing to stretch it to 12 episodes. the last episodes had so many flashbacks of things that were still fresh in my mind. kdramas really should learn how to use flashbacks correctly. flashbacks should be reserved for past events that haven't been shown on screen, or event from earlier episodes. how can episode 12 be showing repeated flashbacks of episode 11???
a fun watch overall. just a few complaints. the last episode was really bad. the plot quickly became nonsensical. the food tasting scenes were edited excessively. it got old after the first few episodes. the king's swordsmanship was just unbelievable. he literally sits his ass down all day, yet somehow he can take on several trained assassins at once??? whatever. pretty average show bit still fun. would recommend for a casual watch.
OMG Lol finally someone said it... about the ending... its really disappointed for me. but whole episode was great.…
woah! since 2017?!๐ that must've been a heavy load. i just feel like a few changes couldve gone a long way. i believe she needed to die, but i feel like her death should've unfolded differently. and also their reunion.

it doesn't matter if youve watched 11 episodes or 19. your statement implied that nothing serious occured throughout the entire show. how do you know nothing serious happened in the episodes you didnt watch. yet you chose to make claims that cover a show you havent fully seen. maybe you should try comprehending your own writing so as to avoid misleading others. you should say theres nothing serious about mr queen, to the best of your knowledge. that would imply that youre speaking about only the parts youve watched. that statement would still be incorrect though, but at least it would've shown an attempt at accuracy on your part.

@Precious don't get me wrong. it's actually very fun and enjoyable. I just feel like it's trying to tackle some serious themes too, but does know when to put aside the comedy. but I'll keep watching.

i took Mr Queen quite seriously, and the premise is almost as ridiculous. it's a matter of strong writing. Mr Queen took time to reveal things instead of shoving random expositions and flashbacks in our faces from episode 1. if if bon appetit your majesty didn't intend to be taken seriously, it wouldnt be dealing with such serious themes.
I'm having a hard time taking this show seriously. the ML has a random flashback about a past tragedy in his first scene... while hunting???? are you kidding me?๐
Hongrang fell in love with her cos he was horny. thr acting was good, although i felt jo boah didn't have chemistry with any of the other characters, and her facial expressions were always the same in similar situations. Jae Yi just wasn't firm; that's the last word I'd use to describe her character. she fell in love with Hongrang and forgot about her brothers. maybe i wouldve been touched by ut if the writers gave me a coherent plot to follow. i don't deny that they had very touching messages and themes to portrayed, but none of them were portrayed well. Jae Yi's abuse and her self harm was barely touched upon. Hongrang was able to move on from his unresolved trauma and start a happy life. the only reason he ended up getting revenge was because he was forced back into that life. look, I'm glad that you liked the show. but it is very flawed and those flaws make it hard for anyone who's truly paying attention to enjoy it. I mean, you didn't even reply to the very valid arguments I made against it.
