Same here, and have you noticed, that none of the FL has ever been called a green flag, let alone a green forest. And they don't call them red flag as well, it is like none of her actions really matter to the audience.

It won't change much, because even if they have the best script, it won't go into production if the producers or directors don't agree. For example, to be eligible for an oscar there are standards like, there should be a lead or significant supporting actor from underrepresented groups, and 30% of all actors should be from 2 underrepresented group like women or racial or ethnic group and the main storyline or subject matter should be centered on them. So anyone who is aiming for an oscar will have to follow this, so I won't be surprised if there are some rules like this for asian dramas which are causing these type of scenarios to be added to the drama.

I am not sure if you noticed, but along with this, in most of the dramas, there will be a scene where the ML touches…
This is purely an agenda, if it was art, there should be some difference between the dramas, but you can find these in almost all of the dramas.

The FL gangs up on the ML with her best friends with baseball bats and all when they see ML with another girl, but the only thing the MLs do when they find there girlfriend or wife cheating is calmly leave the area and cry alone. You rarely see dramas where the ML tries to take revenge on their cheating partners but there are plenty of FL getting revenge. And for the slaps, the most recent one I can think of is, the genie, make a wish. The FL beats him up very severely, and they make it a comedy. The violence always goes one way and it is considered to be normal, and even a small pat from the ML even when justified would make him the irredeemable trash. It is not just a main leads, in any of the relationship in the drama, if the wife beats the husband and husband is scared of his wife, then it is all rainbows and sunshine, flip the gender and the genre of the drama changes.

I have almost never seen a FL apologize properly. And even if they do it is just one sentence from them and it will be never mentioned again, where as the ML would be jumping through hoops and doing a humiliation ritual before FL even takes a look at him while she was the one in the wrong.

Yeah, these are all catering towards the female desires or fantasy. The men always seem like they are begging when they propose. And still does almost everything in their relationship, from initiating it, maintaining it, proposing, and even after marriage they do almost everything. And the most agenda like thing I have seen, is when the ML say that the FL is his dream, and when it comes to the FL, everyone around her will tell her a man or family can't be your dream, it has to be your career. The ML would move across countries losing a lot of things he has earned and built to be with the FL, but at the slightest chance, she will break up with the ML to go after her career.

It is the time of women, not even anime or action movies are saved from this, even if it is boys who are watching it more., unfortunately.

I understand, and I know I might have stretched it a bit too, but it is frustrating. I started watching asian dramas, because they didn't have the multiple exes, or casual dating as the norm, but it is a lost thing. And I 100% believe it is an agenda, ( the women can't even make a simple egg and bread breakfast where as the men are making full course meal ).

Title Our Sticky Love Spoiler
Shit, here we go again. I said, “Let’s watch this one; maybe it’s good because the ML is a gang member,…
I am not sure if you noticed, but along with this, in most of the dramas, there will be a scene where the ML touches the FL's feet. For either to put her shoes on, massage or wash her feet. But you won't find a scene, where she does anything for the ML. At the very least in this one, the FL helps wash the ML's hair when he got injured.

In this drama, the ML was a gangster out of necessity, and it was key point in the drama that the ML did not lose his way even after going through it. So in that sense, he would have thought that he can't be in relationship while he is still being a gangster. At the very least, this drama tried somewhat to justify it, without saying he was so in love that he didn't look at anyone else.

Title Our Sticky Love Spoiler
I think this is the only drama in recent times, where I felt the FL actually loved the ML.
She went through a lot of emotions when it comes to the ML and actually priortized him more than even her past memories. And she actually got jealous but didn't take it out on the ML but stared down the other girl for looking at him with a hint. But what surprised me more was that she actually went to doctor to draw a line when she thought that they had an argument because her.

The romance is the best part of this drama, because it had both of them making efforts for their relationship. And that is something very rare or more like extinct in dramas now.

I like how it's kinda mash of all kind of popular genres, definitely feels like a homage to all the old school…
You can click the add cast link in the cast section, search for the actor or actress at the bottom of the list and add them. The request will be reviewed and the changes will be made if it is accepted.

Title Our Sticky Love Spoiler
Curious.. Why was he trying to send her to Japan when it’s already established that Baek Sang Gil has a stronghold…
I think it is furthest place from Korea, where Tae Ha still has some influence to help her. And Baek Sang Gil thought she was dead, so it seemed the best option at first. And still it is the best option after Baek Sang Gil found out, because he would have less control there than in Korea. It is a case of which is less dangerous rather than safest.

Title The Best Thing Spoiler
Hmmm. I think it really boils down to their love language. It’s not because He Su Ye does things for her then…
It was the ML who first confessed, it was rejected by FL. But in that sense, ML was also doing all of that? He always cooks for her, gives her medicinal herbs and things to cook and drink and make sachets to help her. He also has been giving gifts, and he also has been giving her words of affirmation, his words were the ones that helped her overcome her trauma. And it was not the FL who does it first, because the FL made it a point to announce it official that it was the ML who made the first move. She had been trying to find out but got evidence when the ML's grandfather told everything to the FL's parents. So, no it was not her who doing everything first. The only thing she did first was proposing. But that was only because she didn't give any signs to the ML that she was ready for marriage. Till that point in time, she was completely focused on her career. And before that, ML's father apologized for saying if they are planning to get married.

He wasn't shown to have any abandonment issues, because if he still had the trauma about his ex breaking up with him, then he wouldn't have said he would wait for her to finish her studies abroad, when he confessed to her. His issues with his father was that his father was busy with research and work and wasn't there for his mother when she was sick. So, I don't see when he had abandonment issues. It was only mentioned once by the doctor training under him. He was too perfect. And ML didn't have any doubts for her to erase though? He was steadfast on her from the beginning even when she rejected him.

And she did know she liked him romantically, if she didn't, she would not have been angry when she found out that he has a son, or kissed him when she was drunk. Those aren't things you do to a friend.

needed to come back here after watching this drama when it first come out because people on social media were…
This is what I have seen in most of the chinese dramas. It is always the ML that puts in the efforts makes sacrifices, while the FL goes after her career, her friends and sometimes even the SML before she thinks about the ML. And when they are in a relationship, again it is always the ML doing things for her.
And in this one, FL has never made a meal for the ML, it was either made by FL's father (even FL's mother hasn't been shown to cook, it was always the FL's father) or take out.
If you know about any dramas, where the FL also puts in effort, let me know.

I dropped this after ending of episode 27 when the FL said she extended her abroad stay without even discussing…
her character is a bit selfish (like how her ex said), even before this, she rejected the ML saying that she wants to go abroad and doesn't want a long distance relationship, but still went around leading him on and doesn't care about his feelings. It all ended well, but she didn't know that at that point.
If this was done by the ML, he would be begging for forgiveness for a while before FL considers it.

it's just a cliche in kdrama, fla have experience and it's okay to do that in time mls never think about it if…
I have seen many dramas, and very rarely have I seen FL putting in effort to maintain the relationship with the ML. It is always the ML, and if for some reason the FL makes a mistake, it will still be flipped around and the ML will end up begging and publicly humiliating himself to get back together.

Title Welcome to Samdal-ri Spoiler
the reason she dated was to forget about young pil and young pil didn’t date because he only loved her and would…
What is said is not wrong right? She did in fact have many relationships with others. She claims that she was in love with the ML the whole time. So she was emotionally cheating on all her boyfriends she had? If not, she doesn't love him as much as she claims, because on the first sign of resistance she broke up with him and left town. She doesn't fight for him, but more than that, what has she done for him? Throughout the whole time they were together, it was always the ML who took care of her. The only time she was shown to do something for him, is when his mother died, and even during that time the writers made him tie her shoelaces? The ML is completely pathetic. But her character is bad because she says she loves him but her actions show none of it.

What’s even crazier to me is her confession that she was with many men just to forget him , and that she was…
And when the topic of marriage came up, she was hesistant. And only the ML wanted to get married. She says she only loved him and will only love him till death, but when asking about marriage she doesn't want to? Even till the end it just felt like a one sided love by the ML.

Yup this main character is one of the biggest simps in all of kdramas
Exactly, it is much worse in Cdramas, it would have been ok if they said the same thing to the women, but all the women are career -first, family - second, friends - third, second leads - fourth, bad guys - fifth and the random person in the street - sixth. Oh, completely forgot about the ML, who is bleeding to death after ripping out his heart for her.

Title Welcome to Samdal-ri Spoiler
I watched this for JCW and while i get this is slice of life and therefore going to be slower there was alot that…
Yeah, it is the same in all the dramas, the ML's world revolves around the FL and the FL would be chasing her career, or something else. In this drama the ML says his mom and FL are his dreams, but if it was the FL the drama would have made it that you can't have a person as a dream and chase your career. The FL actually did nothing for their relationship, she just stood there, literally. It was always the ML that ran towards her, worried about her and took care of her. The only thing she did would be going to the ML's father to say that she loves him. Other than that it was always the ML who initiates and does everything.

The young widow's story was more interesting, especially her daughter and the dolphin guy. She was too mature for her age, but was interesting to watch.

And for the ML taking care of the FL's mom, it would have been better if it was because he had a mother-son relationship with her, she takes care of him too and so he wanted to do it. Or after losing his mother, he didn't want any of the other women to die, so he stayed to look after them would have been a much better for his character.

On Can This Love Be Translated? May 14, 2026
This drama should have been more about a girl who is anxious and scared about being loved and a guy who is scared to show his love, and how Do Rami becomes the translator for these two. And how they overcome their own problems, heal and get together.

And from the synopsis here, I thought there would be more scenes with Do Rami going balistic and ML tries to do damage control, but nothing of that sort happens, if anything it was everyone else who were sharp with their words to the FL.
When did this "The core tension comes from Ho Jin's job itself: every interview and press conference becomes a live minefield where one literal translation could spark a scandal, while one "edited" line could betray Mu Hui's true self. " happen. The programs where the ML translated for FL were all recorded not live and anything can be edited. And the only scandal that broke out was about FL ex and that was not due to translation.

Things I wasn't a fan of1. The ml family is too complicated and it didn't anything to they story. They could have…
True, the ML's family was complicated just to be complicated, same for his past love. His brother, was only in a few scenes and then just disappeared, he had no impact on the current story, and it feels like they just used it like a plot device for ML's characterization and nothing else. It would have been different if the brother and his first love got back together, but they formed a new couple with her and that didn't have any impact on the main story.

The worse part about ML's past love is that she says she liked the ML in her second meeting, but she was already in a relationship with his brother (correct me if I am wrong).

The novelist, feels like an uncle who was close with the family, and when everyone left, he kind of took over as a guardian of the ML and watched over him. Evident by him going over to speak to FL's family.

Hated the last ep. They used the kinda break up but not really/ I need to go to resolve an internal issue/ for…
I think they should have broken up, because they way they started the relaionship saying that they will not break up for a month but will definitely break up. That does not bode well for them, especially when the FL believes in superstition like walking under the ladder, or collecting the four leaf clovers for a wish. So it is in line with her character to actually want to break up and clear up all her problems (her cause of anxiety) and start the relationship with the ML again properly. But that doesn't mean she has to go without contact for who knows how long, and what she did to overcome her problems. That is where I agree with you.

The whole drama was about her problems that started from her parents. But that main part was done behind the scenes. Showing that would have made this much better, or better yet, they shouldn't have made her parents come back to life in the last episode, and instead made her come to terms with it.
