Since some people on here seem to get annoyed or bothered or angry about the various theories we all present I would just like to say……..
We are all just having fun throwing s*** at the wall. This is FUN. This is a fictional fantasy show. What will be will be! Don’t take anything people may post too seriously. This isn’t a college course. No one is being graded and there are no extra points for right or wrong theories lol

Something I'd like to point out. People seem to be drawing parallels between the first mage and first jinyowon's…
You are missing the parallels we are drawing. We are drawing them based on the poem & song lyrics. You are only looking at the surface ie: blind OG JIN /Blind current day MD.

Yes yes and yes……. There is a big puzzle piece missing but the idea that Naksu herself isn’t DEEPLY connected to the past and OG JIN seems to gone out the window. Naksu is very deeply entwined with whatever the past story was and with whatever UK’s current story is. She is not some separate soul who is disconnected simply because she didn’t look like MD. There IS definitely a big NAKSU connection !
There is definitely a constant theme in the songs and the thing I keep going back to is that Uk *immediately* recognized Naksu/MD EYES and he very specifically & deliberately said (TWICE) “the only thing pretty on you are your eyes.” (I’m not referring to the blue marks. I’m going deeper)
Whatever long lost connection they have his soul instantly recognized it in her eyes and he intuitively knew he had to keep her by his side from then on to protect her so does UK have a connection to the founder of Songrim (poem writer who loved OG Jin)
The poem to OG Jin - Seol-Ran “the flower in the snow” mirrors Naksu who is a flower who bloomed from the snow.
Reading all the lyrics from the OST is making me teary eyed!!!! These are two long lost lovers who have been separated and lonely without each other across lifetimes.
There is no doubt in my mind that there is a link between Naksu’s soul & the Jin-Seol-Ran. There is a piece of the puzzle we are all missing because the lyrics strongly relate to OG JIN & Naksu (a flower in the snow who walked alone)

... well, Andy Withfield actually died after season 1.
He died after season 2 aired which they made the prequel to season 1 in the hopes that he would go into remission. They planned to film the 3rd season with him not a replacement.

Those people want their romance to be traditional smh! These are two sarcastic emotionally stunted people ….their love language is in what they do not what they say! Love is literally when you can’t stand being apart from someone. It’s not all the pretty romantic mushy stuff! It‘s “if you abandon me I will kill you” and “Here take my jade egg I made you!”
There is something beautiful about watching TWO lead characters who are both cynical, cold and non emotional, with walls up …..fall in love. Usually we have one cold person and one warm person but here we essentially have 2 people who are similar in many ways, so this romance doesn’t play out in the typical way. And I love that! These are two emotionally damaged people who hate to be vulnerable, who have no idea what love feels like much less how to express it and they have to sort of muddle their way into both loving and being loved.
I want to protect them with all my heart. May no weapons formed against them prosper!!!
