This lakorn doesn't really have any great value (no deep speeches!) but Anne and the lead guy were great together. Sadly, no one ever asks the guy (especially after his baby is born) - how would he like it if someone treated his daughter that way? This could have worked way better with just an unfortunate one night stand like in Fated to Love You but - hey, it's an older one.
This male lead remained a jerk the whole time - even to the end when she was walking away. However, I was totally surprised that bit by bit, I really began to understand the second lead girl, her dad and the other messed up characters. Eventually the lead girl began to grow a bit of spine but not soon enough. Once again, weirdly fascinating.
This is an imperfect drama but a really good lakorn! It's quite zippy, the characters are well drawn (while you may not agree with them, you understand most of the motivation behind the villains) and about half of the drama is set in Switzerland and English is spoken as naturally as Thai. Not to say that there aren't a few large plot holes but we can gloss those over with the eye candy.
I'm enjoying Im Soo Hyang in the heroine role - but it looks like she hasn't really gotten any better or more popular roles since then. Is she a one-note actress?
This was a long slog to get through but parts of it were hysterical. Even though I couldn't find english subs…
I read somewhere that the earlier version had the baby surviving. Don't know if that is true or not - but I hope he gave her a little time alone in Paris before he came to beg forgiveness.
Weir and Mai played both of their roles well but I didn't see them as much of a couple. I found his angry look much more convincing than his "i'm in love" moments. On the other hand, I loved Lita! She was completely and thoroughly badass - I wished she ended up with something more satisfying than delusional and in jail.
I'm liking all the other characters more - and where exactly are all the guys who woo her in the manga? They just seem to be standing aside in the drama.
