Wow I started watching kdramas a little bit in 2019 and then during COVID I turned into a dedicated watcher lmao

Wow old kdramas are SO MUCH BETTER than new kdramas!!!!!!! This one is a masterpiece. I have seen all eps and this is wow kdrama, so complex, deep, sophisticated, bringing up all kinds of issues, this is a great social commentary - as usual, always expected of real kdramas...

Real kdramas are going extinct, fast, as Koreans and foreigners making money off Koreans are greedily trying to make $$$$$ by selling kdramas in the West and thus new kdramas are WHITEWASHED, super simplified, made bland, to not piss off anyone

Sad. THE GENOCIDE OF KDRAMAS IS IN FULL PROGRESS and I am afraid they t will be extinct soon. The new "kdramas" are not really kdramas, they are Kwood - shallow, shocking, without dialogues, without character arc, without humor and poking fun at stuff, without resolving it with warmth and compassion, individual and community efforts.

At this point I a watching old kdramas and skipping the new ones, and when I see the old ones... I will have nothing left to watch

I thought it good, not as good as It's Ok not to be ok, but good to watch the show. Again, if you are looking…
imo Its Ok Not to BeOk is just simplified whitewashed more "shock scenes" sensationalistic and a lot more shallow version of this drama
This drama is quite complex deep and sophisticated, and has amazing script and acting. I didnt see it all yet but so far it is a masterpiece

It's Ok Not to Be Ok is just Kwoood. The only memorable and quality thing was the disabled brother. I remember only him. Ah yes and the scene where ML grabs some pen or something and hurts himself to prove he means it, and I was thinking GEES THIS IS STUPID

For all people who were wondering what I was thinking - here it is:
Like Agent Kim drama airing now, ppl are just seeing fights and enjoying that, although the drama really is about a father who is so cemented inside that he cannot property communicate with his child, i.e. GUIDE and PROTECT and TRAIN his child, and thus he raised a child who is TOTALLY unprepared to face living in the world, a child without any common sense and life skillZ, a child who is essentially a dead weight, unable to contribute, and even harmful to themselves and their family and others.

That moron child did NOT tell anyone yet that NastyRichGirl was bullying her every day, and blackmailed her dad to risk their lives to stand up to RichDad.. That is entirely the fault of her cement father to neglect any communication with his child and produce such a space cadet. jumping off cliffs at every step.

Basically agent Kim drama is about the plight that most modern parents are having, bc nobody is raising the new generations. Left to themselves, growing like weeds, given only food and shelter without any training and guidance for life, they are totally lost. THAT is the root message of Agent Kim drama and the audience is unable to see it. The audience writes zillion comments about how great the fights are. ... That kind of audience must be cement parents like Agent Kim and left-alone kids like MJ, so that's why ppl are unable to see what is missing here.

This drama was very bland and shallow from the very beginning. Poker face ML and. FL here are rather simple and very whitewashed, and the drama is centered on her so women can watch and identify with her. Ok it was not terrible until ep 7-8, when it became childish trash, but it was super bland and slow and not memorable at all. LIKE WATCHING TWO ROBOTS. Nothing too different, contraversial, difficult, etc.
Koreans are trying to make money globally so they whitewashed kdramas to make them more appealing to ppl used to watching Hwood and other shallow western stuff.

Lately I skipped all new dramas and watched Fermentation Family, 2011 kdrama, and now am watching It is Ok It is Love, 2014 kdrama. Those are "real" kdramas, they are contraversial, they have rather balanced male-female roles, they expose issues and solve them in a very compassionate way. BUT MOST WESTERN AUDIENCE CANNOT WATCH THAT BC IT IS TOO DEEP.

Like Agent Kim drama airing now, ppl are just seeing fights and enjoying that, although the drama really is about a father who is so cemented inside that he cannot property communicate with his child, and thus he raised a child who is TOTALLY unprepared to face living in the world, a child without any common sense and life skillZ, a child who is essentially a dead weight, unable to contribute, and even harmful to themselves and their family and others. So everything is made shallow and Koreans and foreigners making money off Koreans make tons of money but the kdramas are going extinct. Cdramas have never been real, they are extremely hwoody. It is kdramas that are being genocided as we speak.

Very soon there wont be any kdrama good to watch, and when I finish watching old kdramas that are worth it, then I will just not watch.

Why are some hating the FL? I think this drama is for mature audience. The leads are in their 30s and whatever…
precisely bc this drama IS for mature audience and FL behaves like an elementary school kid, so FL script ruins the drama and makes it a drama for kids, not for mature audience

Are you okay?
yes, I am ok, thanks for asking, and you? I see that you have issues with expressing your thoughts. Since you have nothing logical to say, you resort to bullying and being a smart alek.

Well you precisely proved what I was writing about, so thank you for that. Sayonara. Dont waste anyone's time replying to my posts. You and your little pawns :) You pass on the word to them, I dont have time for you guys.

If I see any of you write to me again, I am blocking you asap

And the audience - why so happy that Agent Kim beat up all those ppl?? It is totally useless. There is no difference whatsoever. The main villain is still the same. And even if agent Kim killed him, there are TONS of construction companies and developers and their lawyers and gvmt officials doing REALLY stupid shady stuff

Everything in this drama is real, and those construction and corporate giants tied into politicians and government EVERYWHERE are the real problem of this drama. Beating up one or two of them is like swatting one moskito in June in Alaska. NO DIFFERENCE

Also, how many "ordinary" parents and kids have been victimized ... ?

How does this audience plan to eradicate the root problem?

I don't understand why the government is so heavily involved in this plot. They've been watching 66 since he settled…
undercover NIS agents were monitoring him, one was his neighbor laundrymat guy and the other was his colleague at work

Such a waste of everyone's' precious time. I'm pissed because they hocked me with potential..
Welll there is a whole art about recognizing the red flags that a drama is not it... and then the whole art when to drop a drama.. not too soon, before you are sure... and not too late, when it is too late... Kdramas usually have U-turns so I learned not to drop too early :) but sometimes waiting is too late... So I dont know what to say except that we learned how great actors can be misused to produce a very weak blah bland drama. Also we learn what it is that makes bad dramas. The plot, the way it is, is the classic kdrama sexism, where the plot is created by FL stupidity. Yeah, in year 2026, we got the same plot as in year ... 1800,,,, Someone is working desperately hard to uphold that idea that women are utterly stupid and irrational and need a calm smart man to guide them, to be their guardian, to tell them what to do and make sure they do the right thing. Sexism and nacism sound similar for a reason :) It is all about who has the power to control resources (and thus to control others)..
Kdramas have very few flaws but this staunch inherent sexism is THE persisting major fault

ok so far actually the plot makes sense, it is quite real. The Mama actresses both are great at their roles. The kids are not bad. The only problem is FL actress, she is very unskilled. I suggest she take some acting lessons ASAP

I noticed that too.i mean it's not a regional accent,right?
I dont speak Korean, and from my drama experience, I can recognize village accent from Busan....
So with my limited knowledge, I dont detect an accent in Prosecutor's speech, just unique pronunciation.
Perhaps he has a parent who has a different native language, or has lived abroad, or something like that; or he just speaks that way. But it is certainly unique pronunciation and it sounds interesting esp bc he is combining it with a deep hushed "important" voice. Very noir :)
Imo that voice is part of his "costuming" as a prosecutor and makes him seem real as a prosecutor. It is like he came out of old time English movie, like ..... Sherlock Holmes. I can see him wear one of those bowl hats, a butterfly tie, and a cane, and order his servants around :)

Yes, I wonder about this "medicine is a business and the rich patients get priority" attitude. I do hope…
Honey it is the reality everywhere, even places where medical is supposedly free :) but patients have to bring gifts to get any attention.
In places where medical is not free, it is clear - the more you pay, the more you get, and if you canNOT pay, you die on the street, as simple as that, you do NOT get medical help.

I watched ep 1, 2 and started 3 and QUIT. I really loved watching the actors!!!! They are so HEALTHY looking!!!!! their complexion, hair, eyes, it all glows!!!! they are radiant!!!!

Unlike the modern actors who are super skinny, pale and tired.

And so the acting here is a lot more energetic and fun. So I watched, although I was not thrilled with the content.

The Chef is too much of a slave driver, and FL is too naive clutzy dumbish, and after a while I just could not take it and dropped out at the start of ep 3. I fast forwarded to ep 20 (the last ep) and fond that the Chef was still the arrogant slave driver. So I just dropped the drama. Sorry but

Just finished ep 1 - it is NOT true that Chef fired all female staff - he fired all women but one, who quit, and he also fired 2 men....
and everyone fired was 10000% guilty - one harassed the guests, one was kissing with her boyfriend in the storage, and FL was stupid enough to walk around with ice cubes and cauldron of oil near the grumpy screaming Chef

it is true that Chef did not want women in his kitchen and would have found ways to fire them. But it was not bc he was sexist. It was bc he had a very unhappy breakup with another cook at his previous work..... So he didnt want female cooks in his kitchen. The fun thing was that THAT woman got him the chef job lmao
Also... female cooks were causing him trouble as they all tried hitting on him.

Chef was not necessarily sexist, but just an arrogant jerk overall, a slave driver to all his workers, a control freak.

FL was fired for being dumb. She ran into Chef just as he was firing a kissing man and woman and yeah Chef pushed her away but it is her fault that she was there .

FL IS DUMB NAIVE AND CANNOT READ THE ROOM. ALSO LACKS COMMON SENSE
so that is actually "the greatest"sexism of this drama

I dislike eating in restaurants and this drama totally illustrates why
The food absorbs the energy of the cook and cooking environment
plus most ppl working in restaurants do not wash their hands
