This drama is great imo. It shows ordinary "real" ppl doing their best to live as decent ppl. That is a "true hero" plot and very profound, although seemingly simple,

It is shocking to find this many comments here that the drama is "boring..." ??!.
This drama has about 12,000 watchers ....
The comments show that the audience is UNFAMILIAR with the following concepts:
interact with elderly, volunteer any work, take care of anyone or anything, value any small town/village stories, value community stories, recognize when someone is cemented and when they are open, recognize healing, .. etc etc etc They call ML 'village hero" and dislike that idea - but I suspect they voted high or heroes in fight dramas like Weak Hero, or Vincenzo...?
Do these ppl get up to give their seat on a bus to an elderly, pregnant, or injured..?,
where is their DISCERNMENT and life experiences... ? Why is there that self righteous entitled tone as if they could make a better drama right this second, they know so much?

I wonder who this audience is and what this audience normally watches?? .... they say this drama is not cool or funny to them - and based on their comments, the drama totally went over their heads, they do not even recall correctly what was shown in the drama

I think the audience consists of fans of idols and "pretty boys" - there are so many comment about pretty boys - and/or fans of sleek rom-coms, urban young rich and pretty, very young ppl, glitzy trillers and fantasies, etc

and seems like they came to watch this drama bc ML and SML are pretty and/or young boys, BUT the drama has a lot more mature plot - and the audience is bored.

So many comments are of the wall immature, as if written by a very spoiled brat urban teenager OR a hard core consumer of soaps, soapy fantasies, and other meaningless video stories.
I have not seen this many immature and malicious snide comments in one place. Well except Dynamite Kiss, Pursuit of Jade, Perfect Crown and Practical Guide to Love

and it is hard to find comments that show any understanding of what is going on in the drama, even actual recollection of the scenes. wow.

I noticed the same behavior in an LA-based discussion group Dramabeans.
I think chinese short verticals, cdrama glitz shows and cesspools, and recent kdrama hwood cesspool, have jeopardized the very few remaining brain cells that were left after decades of hwood cesspool

Real kdramas have no chance then since they require higher cognitive skills, and a compasionate and sophisticated sense of humor, warmth and community.

The comments I am seeing on this page... lack a sense of compassion and care. And have such a strong feeling of self importance and egotism. The "selish teenager vibe". So I am getting very ... sceptical about the future of visual arts, and in particular, kdramas, this is such a strong push to just exterminate kdramas. If that happens, the world is doomed. Kdramas currently are a rare form of art that openly speaks on all kinds of subjects and S Korea is known for good discernment and replacing asap any crap governments.

If this inherent good discernment and high standards for life's true values become obsolete, then yes the world is doomed. There wont be anything worth watching anymore. For me :) and the ppl trashing this drama will be having a blast since all dramas will be of "their" kind.

The villagers are old and cannot do the work, they really need him. And in return, they provided a "home" for him and adore him.
This is a story of healing

gosh you missed it - he started smiling and more and more, to the point of ear to ear

- BH was always there to help JM
- BH saved JM's life and lives of her family how many times? At least 6?
- instead of telling Chairman, JM sacrificed BH bc it was easier
- instead of telling reporters, JM sacrificed BH
- JM lied to BH non-stop and kept secrets:
------ she hid Professor's affair with HY
------- she hid that JH's mom is HY
- JM dumped BH to marry his brother JH.... and she is clearly using his brother as a pawn in her game... i.e. JM DUMPED BH AND IS INTENTIONALLY HURTING BH AND HIS BROTHER and also destroying their brotherly bond
and she dumped BH with lies ... and JH hit BH, told him to shut up, boogey away, etc
- JM dumped BH for his brother JH - and told JH she will try to love him and he should seduce her
- so de facto, JM TOOK JH AWAY FROM SR
- JM IS AN EVIL AND DUMB INCOMPETENT SCUMBAG who is creating super bad karma for herself and also ruining lives of BH and JH - well JH deserves it, he is butting in where he doesnt belong and should pay for it. And BH made a mistake to love such an evil woman-child

-- JH IS EVIL - JM told him that HY killed her father and JH kept denying it in front of Professor
-- JH IS EVIL - he doesnt care if he marries SR or JM and he doesnt care that she doesnt love him, and he doesnt care that BH loves her and she loves BH

TO RESOLVE THIS WITH CLEAN KARMA:
- Professor's family should fall apart. Mom and dad divorcing, JH not believing they are really his parents and leaves them. So JH and Professor will probably leave the family and BH will take care of the mother
- JH should realize that HY is a criminal and completely ditch her and try to help put her away
- JH should realize that JM is fake and should let her go
- SR should wake up asap and blast JM for wrecking chaos while SR was gone - so give some money to JM and let her go for good. SR takes over Dream Group and JH gets fired.
- JM should go back to her family without anything and anyone except a little money. SR should come visit SH sometimes. But really JM does *NOT* deserve to be SR's friend.
- JM took SR's man with the intention of hurting him and using him. SR should ditch JM for good.
- BH should realize that JM is a sh.t, and let her go - and take charge of his new wealth, go on a vacation before he starts working as the Chairman, and move on - and find himself a good wife

Perhaps BH and SR should get togheter and take over Dream Group,

and JM can go back to side dish shop OR stay married to JH and they too pack up and move somewhere else... SH will have to go with JM... , SR can come to visit SH and never bring BH, BH and JM will never run into each other again,
and JH can go work in another hotel and never see anyone anymore.
HY and manager Lee should die somewhere on the way.
Chairman should die and leave everything to SR.

That seems like a good just ending to me.
JM is a piece of sh.t. And I hope BH gets that asap and crosses her over.
But bc of sexism, he probably won't. The drama is cashing on Korean/Asian "parents are more important than anything" and "women are more dumb than anyone". Ep 86 and on are very sobering insight into the toxicity of Korean culture, even more so since before ep 86, the drama looked normal. This is like pulling a ghost out of closet at the last minute.

Anyways, if BH keeps trying to get JM, ... that's another reason to drop this drama. Drop the sn.t, BH.

ML helping them is like ... eeding an injured dog or a stray cat. And on his side, nobody loved him nor paid attention to him and elderly all pampered him and provided an emotional HOME for him, like ... they took in an injured dog, or adopted a stray cat.
ML WAS A STRAY AT THE START :) and he became the village "son" and hero :)

Also, I disagree, he was not suffering :) WORKING DOESNT AUTOMATICALLY IMPLY SUFFERING :) Like... playing a soccer game is not suffering although you are sweating and running around...

so... in some sense he was "suffering" bc he had to work hard and he got wet, dirty, sweaty etc, and h had to interact with people and he was clearly cemented,
but also, he was not suffering:) he was HEALING :) the physical work helped him to get into his body and to defrost his heart and mind.... he was becoming alive and communicative, it was clear that the work was transforming him and making him more alive. HE WAS RESPONDING TO PEOPLE AND BEING PULLED INTO THE cOMMUNITY AND HIS HEART WAS OPENING... HE WAS HEALING. He found ppl who loved him and he responded with love

HE WAS NOT A SELFISH COLD ISOLATED PIECE OF CEMENT ANYMORE

and all of that was conveyed in those scenes, with music, witih humor, with showing him in various situations where HE WAS TAKING CARE OF VILLAGERS, he helped out of his own heart

exactly, so I have the right to say my opinion too and ask questions - your sense of "comedy" and "exciting" is reeking of watching something else - and I am curious to find out what exactly you watch that you find exciting and why the opening scenes in the village are not exciting nor funny to you

I doubt that JM can plan that far ;) And yeah she surely does not plan to actually live with Junk Ho - although she promised she would try to love him and told him to seduce her. I do not see her trying at all...

Let's see if BH turns out to be a relative or not to Chairman

In my ideal world, JM and JH stay the evil pair and move far away, and BH becomes the Chairman and marries some great lady in great love. After BH learns how trashy JM really is, he could forget her quickly :) bc ... he was in love with a kind honest person, not this trash person.

A very slim chance is that JM breaks down, and fixes her mess by telling everything to Chairman and then going back to BH to beg him for forgiveness. He is gonna learn everything she lied and she did and he will HAVE TO have some bad feelings and she would have to really really grovel and transform for him to take her back. it would have to be severe total transformation. Honestly, I dont think this script writer is capable of pulling it off..

I would fire the script writer.
