I want to watch this but the only streaming site it’s on right now is Disney+. I hate that I pay a subscription and STILL have to deal with 2+ minute ads I can’t skip. Kills my binge flow. It’s “coming soon” to Viki and not at all on Tencent. ☹️
I’m on episode 11 and I can’t tell if Prince Xian is good or bad. He seems a little too nonchalant about everything, focusing on his plants, but there’s something about him that makes me feel like he’s a cunning schemer of bad things putting up this benevolent front.
We are off to a ❤️🔥start. After episode 1, I know I’m gonna love every minute of this drama. My humble theory: Roy is already in love with Zen. He has been WAITING for this opportunity. I think he’s using this to make Zen realize/acknowledge his feelings are romantic, not platonic.
No, Barcode filmed this series before he joined GMM. GMM doesn't have anything to do with this. And to clarify…
I’m wondering if they are letting Jeff’s agency pursue it. Seems unfair if they are, unless they’re contributing financially to his legal action. Or maybe laws work differently in Thailand and they can’t or won’t pursue it on his behalf for some reason in the contract. That seems more likely. Jeff owns the company suing on his behalf. It makes sense that SoS is pursuing this. I wonder if GMM won’t act because, like you said, the contract only covers his interests after the contract start date. Wuju Bakeey has little to do with them. Tbough if it’s successful after it was released, it would have promoted their actor so they would have reaped the benefits with no money or effort expended on their end. Even if the contract says they have no legal obligation to intervene in this case, I think they should to protect their actor. Both Jeff and Barcode deserve to be fairly compensated for their work.
Thankfully his arc does not last the entire drama. 😉
When does he leave? I’m on Episode 8 and the times I’ve seen him on screen are too many already. I need to know how far away the light at the end of the tunnel is.
I’ve started and paused a few dramas since Pursuit of Jade. This is the first that captured my interest and…
I’m on episode 28 and I am hoping the friend doesn’t turn because of the brother. And I’m worried the other friend will betray her because of unrequited love. ☹️ I had to pause my watching because I’m gonna be so disappointed if that’s the case.
It might seems lame at the beginning but it gets better and better the more you watch. The main characters will…
I don’t think I can make it. Baobao is the one that I dislike the most. I know she’s supposed to offer some passive comic relief, but the whole story is giving me “nope” vibes. It feels like something written and produced in the early 2000’s.
I heard the ml gray hair era is not that long? Is it true?
It isn’t long at all- so far. Bits show up much later, but he’s not all gray. Sad for the visuals (because why do all Chinese men look 🔥with long white hair?😉), a good thing for the story.
I think you will have to get used to this sort of voice when watching Cdramas. Zhao lusi also sounds like that…
I haven’t watched Hidden Love, but if the FL voice is the same, I’d drop that drama too. You’ve saved me the trouble of starting it just to discover this, thanks. As for the “hate” on Esther Yu, I believe I mentioned it’s this particular voice I dislike- I enjoy the actress’s other works just fine. I only stopped watching My Journey to You (I picked it because of her being the FL) because I discovered it was an open ending with no closure- which I’m not a fan of. Her acting was enjoyable in that, so I’m disappointed that they wrote it like that. No one is hating on the actress (at least in my comment and the responses to it, so far)- just the affected voice used for this FL role.
I’ve also watched quite a few Cdramas at this point so I can disagree that I’ll have to “get used to this sort of voice”- plenty of FLs do not have this affected pouty childlike voice. With so many Cdramas out there, I absolutely do not, in fact, have to “get used to this sort of voice.” The beauty of choice and all that jazz.
I’ve started and paused a few dramas since Pursuit of Jade. This is the first that captured my interest and had maintained it. I’m just at the halfway point, starting episode 18 now, and enjoying the story quite a bit. 😊
I’m at episode 8 and I can’t with this ML bashing. The things she says are so hurtful. Yeah, the script has him as the villain, but she learns early on that the script is altered outside of specific rules. I know she’s trying to avoid her own demise but still. The evidence of the 7th prince being a good guy are clear. And how could anyone believe a child planned ans carried out an assassination by themselves? Makes no sense. They just believe this? With no proof? Ans knowing the character he had up to that point is opposite a cold blooded and unfeeling type? I can’t. Even his reactions in the present were opposed to this evil idea of him. He plays a game of Go instead of slaughtering an army at the gates and costing significant lives. Ans he’s successful at getting the general back. zero bloodshed. I want to keep watching but it’s too much. I’m sure it must improve, but I don’t want to wait another 20 episodes to find out. I don’t like her. Period.
It was unbearable for me at the beginning too and I went into this not liking Esther very much. Ended up being…
I won’t. I’ll skip this, knowing her voice won’t grow up, even if her character does. It’s the equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for me. If she weren’t the FL and only showed up every few episodes for a minute or two, I may be able to handle it because I’d just skip right past her scenes, but I can’t do that with the FL. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question and for sharing your comments though. 😊
I think for most Europeans infantile FLs are hard to get by. This is the only drama where its worth the watch.…
But no voice development. I have decided I don’t need to get used to her voice. If the voice belonged to an occasional support character, then I could get used to it. I can just skip it and call it good, knowing that her voice stays like nails on a chalkboard for me. It’s all good. Plenty of other good drama without that affected voice. Thanks for chiming in.
together sooner as I’m only on episode 8 right now 😭😭
