ALSO! ABOUT THE ENDING: In the drama's defence, it HAD NO CHOICE but to be bad. Irl situation: Back then Namgil was suddenly called to military service in the middle of filming the drama! And exctension to go a bit later to finish the drama well was NOT granted by the military.
So you can blame the south.kor Military for ruining drama ending.

Going by that, I want another Romance drama for him, even HE wants it, so Please pleaseeee Producers cast him finally!!
Action-thrillers is NOT the only thing he Excels at. PDs should watch Bad Guy to see he can be rather Seductive and good at Romance! 😍🤤😂

He's been saying (actually rather Complaining ha ha) in interviews that he's tired of action-thrillers and wants to do romcom for a change.
And Han Ji Min said "Let's work together in a project sometime" back when they were hosting an award. Nowadays they seem to be friends with him sending her food truck to Love Scout set. Why not?
2 MLs though? Abit worried about developing 2nd Lead syndrome and rooting for the one she won't end up with. 😅 I hope they make it VERY CLEAR from the start which of them she'll end up with, Romance isn't supposed to be unpredictable! It's Not a thriller or mystery!

I too really like both Na In woo & Lee Se Young and WANTED to like the drama. Unfortunately writing was Trash.
It's more disappointing when you like the actors of a drama which ends up disappointing. At least if one is indifferent about the actors, it doesn't fewl like such a Waste of a good actor...

I too have watched loooooots of 2000s melodrama. I tend to like them. They were entertaing in their melo, this was not. And the couples were actually shippable.. Here they were not. Actually Melo is my fave genre. Currently watching the Old Revenge Melo-romcom drama Birth of a Beauty, and it's a million timess better than this. 😅 Leads have fun personalities, entertaining writing, no boring moments, leads are shippable. Han Ye Seul acting a traumatized character really well, better than Lee Se Young, as mucha s I like LSY, i have to admit this....
Motel California on the other hand.... These two were only cute when young. There's no reason for them to be together as adults or be endgame. They are only annoying together, bring out the Worst in each other and have NO chemistry. 🤦♀️
If anything, this deserves more hate. I gave it 2/10 for bad writing, boring characters and unshippable leads with boring personalities.

The romance is very badly written. It's not realistic at all, and then it goes back and forth and ML has no backbone, total Whimp. It's just annoying. Bad writing.
I really WANTED to like this drama. And usually I disagree what MDListers opinion when they dislike a drama, but unfortunately I have to agree.
It had POTENTIAL, with Great cast, interesting setting with the Motel, FL had an interesting career as interior designer....But I simply didn't like it. Didn't see why the leads should even be together. And ML was a backbone lacking whimp. Didn't ship them.
People on this site rating his best projects as 6. something, because they hate Melodrama! 🤦♀️
There's no objectivity in the rating on this site, whatever is more lighthearted and has young famous actors as leads will gain higher rating, despite being trashy. 😅🤦♀️
I'm not surpised that Knetz didn't like it, while ifans liked it.
It seems like the type of movie more for international fans to enjoy.
Koreans prefer to just watch things they releate to, koreans are quite racist and don't like a cultural exchange themed story, in other places people are generlaly more Cosmopolitan and enjoy this type of immigrant movies.
