It was interesting to see a relatively young actor play a father. Although he's already 32 this year, that's young when you consider most k actors only embrace fatherhood at around age 40.
Also agreed, this role really suited to him, in fact it's my favorite role of his so far. 😍
The ML was called in to military service in the middle of filming, didn't get even a short extension, making the drama have a messy last eps without ML character who suddenly died to explain his absense....
It's not as bad as reviewers/commenters claimed. FL is only incostistent during first half, then it all comes together and makes sense with character growth in 2nd half because of a plotline, which fixes FL flakiness . Bonus for including interesting scientific research, bioengineering at 2nd half and Rich parents that DON'T go against leads' relationship is SO REFRESHING lol. There was NO PARENTAL interferance whatsoever from neitehr FL nor ML parents, which is rare for asian drama.
Still pretty much just an average romcom. Watchable in double speed for the great leads and funny 2nd lead pairing.
Last ep suddenly ends with covid pandemic errm ok 😅.
Including the real breakout that happened during filming, and actors masking, I suppose they wanted to highlight/thank real scientists for working hard to help out irl + make leads look cool at end with working to make reusable protection gear..
But I hope they plan ahead the filming & film the ending first to avoid Na In Woo leaving for military before a good ending filmed for drama (See what happened to Bad Guy (2010) kdrama).....
Isn't Na In Woo suppose to enlist in the military after MMH?
"Motel Califorina will begin filming soon and it will officially premiere in 2025. " >>> Soon. LMAO. They better start RIGHT AWAY + Shoot ending /last eps in advance. (better to have a messy middle without ML than ruined ending)
Quite worried now about the ending of this drama. 😰
Unless things have changed since 2010, s.outh kor military service does NOT respect ongoing filming projects & actors other contractual obligations whatsoever....
"But being born in 1994, Na In Woo is also expected to enlist for his mandatory military service duties by the end of this year. "
>>> errr 6 months until has to enlist at latest, I don't think they'll have the time to film unless they plan ahead and make Na In Woo shoot some ending/last ep scenes before the rest of cast. 🤔 Doesn't filming usually take 7-9 months? Or this drama is a bit shorter and/or only takes 5-6 months??? Keep in mind he might be called in earlier than december, so this drama crew better plan ahead or risk a Bad Guy 2.0 situation. I hope they are smart about it.
Or maybe this drama only in planning stage and filming starts in 2 years (or is it 1,5 years now that military service has been slightly shortened in s.korea?)🤔

Oh I forgot about that, he's 29 right, hope they won't pull a "Kim Nam Gil during Bad Guy drama" and make him enlist DURING filming of drama, ruining the drama ending because apparantly military can't wait just a couple more months or even just weeks to not ruin a project 🙄
I'm happy Na In Woo is finally getting ML roles! 😍
Also Lee Se Young is one of those lucky actresses who always keeps getting paired with the best actors! Always looking forward to her projects not just because she herself is great, but there's somehow ALWAYS a great ML for her too! 😂
What's with all these these "Returns to hometown & reunites with 1st love" asian dramas lately - Welcome To Samdalri, Will Love In Spring, To The Wonder....2 others whose names I've forgotten too...
surely getting tiresome to have this plot rehashed multiple times..... 2024 Asian drama Trending theme is trying to spread Propaganda for young people to not just live in the cities??? lol 😆 (I liked all dramas I mentioned though, but now this theme is starting to get overtly repeated lately)
Otherwise GREAT OTP CASTING! 😍
Just wish for different plot.... Although a motel setting and FL an interior designer is interesting, so let's see...
....never seen a drama's tags so focused on only characters' jobs lol 😅

That's certainly a HIGHLY REFRESHING 2ML Story lol 😂, looking forward to it!
