Arrogant Revolting ML, FL who stalks him, she's supposed to be a genius but her life barely shown but revolved around being pathetic simp for a ML because of stupid "love at first sight".
ML lives for tough love and hates expressing himself. Toxic masculinity and pathetic loser FL. Also stupid for ML to hate on the guy being responsible for a child he fatherered.
Childish drama for teenagers/early twenties watchers max. Even the pacing is off and even watching in 2x double speed was bored the whole time.
Dropped and rated 1/10. Not only a bad drama, but even made me angry while watching.
This is truly disappointing after watching Li Xian's excellent Will Love In Spring, and what a total shock to be THIS repulsed by him, after being totally smitten by his charcter in WLIS.
Oh well, onto watch another drama of his, hopefully it's better, can only go up after all from this trash.

Now even Chun Woo Hee & Song Joong Ki drama has the "Reunited with childhood love" plot too 🤔 (Not sure about hometown/smalltown though). This used to only be a SMALL Childhood Connection trope, but lately it's the WHOLE plot of dramas along smalltowns....
Anyway I was only half-joking, during Will Love In Spring they had scenes involving Moving back to small hometowns and the major listing the befenefits of that in a really over the top way, really had me "Wait, what is this drama trying to do here... ha ha ?!" 🤔🤔😆
I was thinking the same while reading. More indepth characters suit him well.
He has the emotional depth with melancholic vibes/temperament to play such characters, unlike many k actors with too much of a default "blank face" and generally too unemotional.
....Ironically he appears quite "blank faced" during comedy instead. Maybe because he doesn't know how to play more funny vibes. Though no such problem in Atypical Family in romcom moments, maybe he's improved there or just more comfortable in the role.
Plus his highly Mature vibes/personality (he gets paired with Noonas alot for good reason! Women his age actually give immature vibes next to him imo lol) makes him more suited to Serious roles.
MDL filled with Genre Purists who hate any kind of Genre Mixing, it's no wonder most kdramas are so basic and similar to each other, any attempt at different gets hated on by the close-minded genre purists who can only take pure thriller or pure romcom 😡😡

Don't be shallow 😅 Her ML there not attractive but they both had a matching WIT to compensate, making them fun to watch as they Bantered, made better by them already having acted together in a movie years prior, making them really comfortable to banter like that.
But some people only like the handsome oppa lead.....

Thrillers are better with comedy/romcom inserted, especially k thrillers.
