Thanks for explaining about cinematography, it was an interesting read. I grew up watching chinese/HK/dramas from the 80s ( with my parents), 90s, 00's so CGI isn't an issue for me but I notice over the years suddenly everyone is a CGI expert lol all i hear is CGI this and that, not just with the current dramas but in the recent years. For me CGI is the last thing on my mind, when I watch xianxia its for the story of deities, demons, reincarnation etc, wuxia for the martial arts and fighting scenes(which nowadays not many actors are actually learning the skills to do, some is just waving their swords around) Most important for me are the Actors, their delivery, the story and how they draw the audience in without using the pretty colors.
