I really like the BGM! This is definitely original composition for this drama. It's fitting and accentuating everything that is happening. It set the mood early on and now that same melancholy continues.
Eddy is experiencing sort of a revival after being just the support actor. Both last and this year playing main roles and really shining in them for the most part. I hope he is not putting himself in danger and not being forced to put others in danger. Any sudden rise in popularity and releases spell trouble on so many different levels starting with not being paid but reported for that income thus owing taxes and being charged with tax evasion, through being forced to front for some shady characters laundering money to being a puppet of the people in power. Two strangers who are in no way connected to one another in modern timeline but had a common unexplainable "experience" with memories now recognized each other with "what the f just happened and why do I long for you not even knowing who you are???" are kind of weird phenomena that appeal to me. I prefer that to "fate brought us together as you were there with me all along across the past lives" and definitely better than "while I was in a coma, I created an alternative life in my head filled with real life people who were with me in this timeline even if I did not know about them". The fact they show ML living alone and dying in ancient times points to his true reincarnation with memories of the past life, while for all the practical purposes FL time travelled (as nobody else other than ML remembering her in ancient times, but her portrait is still hanging in the manor in modern times). If they made it into both leads having sudden memories of past lives it would have been like many other dramas. This was indeed a novel mixture of time travel and reincarnation.
I feel for this man as an actor: 16 dramas released this year so far and he is ML in 14 of them! Yikes! My favorite go to for kisses and seduction was Li Fei since Crush and because Yan Zi Xian seems to be devouring his kissing partners (not pleasant to watch if you ask me). Wang Xuan is next on the list but boy do I not envy him crossing lips with so many partners! He is doing it well though...
this was by far the best ending of any transmigration with return to modern times stories in all the 700+ dramas I had seen. Really, really coherent and affecting only two modern people.
this was so much fun! I had seen ML before in almost 10 other dramas that I could not find here listed with recognizable names, but I am going through his profile, and the FL actress is next.
So the novel Prisoner of Beauty was originally a reborn story?
with a modern girl actually being reborn into the second life of the FL and memories of the first life of that person. Which surely explains why she was so freaking annoying and passive. Go figure. Oh and ML also had "dreams" of this previous life at one point.
