Very confused - did I miss something? At end of Ep. 3 - the "epilogue" showed ML in practice run; then FL left for a "blind date" and he was distracted and missed a cue. Thought it would be in Ep. 4, but no??? Ep. 4 a lot of fun (matching leather jackets - how cute?). Maybe I'm not sure how to watch this show, but enjoying the ride so far.
Something About 1 Percent seems similar with contractual marriage of a rich guy to a school teacher when they…
I finally purchased Rakuten Viki so that I could watch Shooting Stars and From Now Showtime. Binging on What's up with Secretary Kim. Wanted to try out I am a Robot but it's a "plus" subscription.πͺ Still trying to figure things out but next on the purchase list will be a Roku box, I think., so that I can watch on TV instead of computer screen. π
Also, then by this person's logic, any enemies to lovers trope, fake marriage contract relationship in any kdramas…
LOL, then the biggest "plagiarism" of all with almost all enemies-to-lovers plots would be. . . . . TA-DA - Elizabeth and Darcy ("Pride and Prejudice"). OR, going even further back in time, Beatrice and Benedick ("Much Ado About Nothing"). In other words. . . . . . .A story as old as time. I have now subscribed to Rakuten Viki and am watching: What's up with Secretary Kim; Shooting Stars, and From Now On, Showtime. Still haven't figured how to link up with Apple TV, but working on it so I can watch on my TV instead of computer screen. Cheers, Kathryn. π
This sums up my thoughts exactly and more! 100% agree!Edit - Also, I've said this many times before but I'll say…
Cattaurus, You and I have watched the same show, haven't we? That is, with the same observations, the same "filters" (that is, what's important, what is trivial). After all, you were the catalyst that got me here to MDL! Cyber-hugs.
I thought the ending was great too! Much better than Business Proposal π
I still haven't watched Business Proposal Finale (read the synopsis and just couldn't make the effort). And I loved the earliest episodes of that show - so funny.
I finally purchased a VPN so I could watch the last two episodes in "real time" on Disney+Asia. 30 day money back…
Ii also purchased Nord VPN and watched on my PC screen. Tried Malaysia and Singapore but got error messages. Elif Kim suggested Hong Kong - and that worked for me!
I skipped through the last few episodes and suddenly she's not dying anymore? (marking it as a spoiler just in…
Didi you watch the pillow fight? That scene alone shows that the actors have chemistry, the director knows how to choreograph and the writers didn't soften the characters' personalities.
Iβve watched both and tbh, I loved Crazy Love a lot more than HPL. To each his own I guess.
Had to look up "makjang" and found many definitions/explanations but this one rang true for HPL:
"When plots involving extreme, absurd or shocking instances are dealt with illogical or unusal methods β mainly to arouse controversy or to hook more viewers β or conveniently inserted for that purpose, all this is described as βMakjangβ in Korean."
I recently re-watched some HPL episodes (to fill in the days between CL) and it should have been a 14 episode show and the stuff about what happened in early childhood - ugh. The so-so triangles added nothing to the story. But the romance was lovely and Kim Jae-wook is King of Kisses. If not for watching him in HPL, I probably wouldn't have tried CL.
done watching episode 16! I'm here from the start, witnessing how people criticize this drama before it even began,…
I recently re-watched some of the original trailers and was reminded as to why I didn't bother to try the show at first (not to mention that I can't get it in US without much effort).
Can't wait to watch this in about a year as a Disney+ U.S user!
I finally purchased a VPN so I could watch the last two episodes in "real time" on Disney+Asia. 30 day money back guarantee so will need to do some searching to see if I can access other sites as well that would make it worth the effort.
Here's my thoughts on show, based on star rating. Crazy Love is only my 5th Kdrama (began watching them in February), and I finally realize that some things that would never be accepted in US dramas (which go for several years) must be ignored here.
Original rating (about the time I completed episodes 1-7 in proper sequence): 10 Stars. Reasons: Everything clicked together - actors, lighting/cameras, direction and dates/events/etc. were uniformly consistent.
Ep. 15-16 (read to the end!)
MINUS 3 Stars: Rationale for SJo as villain was imperfect at best. In the end, his only back-story (and one that we didn't know about until Ep. 15) was that he once worked at same place as NGJ. He just happened to retrieve Se-hee's cell phone and kept it all these years? My God - that was a hill to high for me to climb. And how did SJo get hired by BSY? Writer fail.
MINUS 2 Star: Stalker lady resolution didn't make sense - three month countdown but. . . . . she was trying to kill him? But nothing she did was remotely fatal, so was it a 3 month countdown to making him watch her jump off the roof? And the Sniper scene! Writer fail.
Thus, in the end, SJo and Stalker Lady are merely plot devices with no real relationship to our Crazy Couple except to move their story - and NGJ'c character development - forward and I accept that as okay in Kdrama land. Now, the plus stars.
PLUS 2 Stars: ALL stories were happily wrapped up in Ep. 16, including even Instructor Chaebae. Everyone back at the GoTop family. [Note, I do not mention BSY and don't intend to]
PLUS 1 Star: Park Yang Tae saves - yes literally saves - NGJ. Several times. Loved all of their conversations in these two episodes. Great twist.
PLUS 1 Star: Lee Shin-ah going to work for Park. Very nice twist.
PLUS 5 Stars: the last 15 minutes. Lovely Proposal under the cherry trees. Sweet married life . And best of all was NGJ thoughts about how their relationship began, progressed, regressed and then became a real couple - probably the most perfect 15 minutes in any TV show I have ever watched.
10/10it's the first time that i didn't get annoyed in the relationship of ml and fl, most of the time I'll cringe…
Ep. 11 is still my favorite and still upset that writers did not connect EVERY . Single. Dot.
But . . . . .happy ending for every single character (altho I don't give a s**t about BSY or Se-gi) and the final 15 minutes. . .I'm not going to lower my rating even tho I said I would if they didn't answer my questions. Last 15 minutes - absolute perfection. This is the Gold Standard for all KDramas going forward.

Okay. I now have a goal of learning to read Korean. Not sure how I will do it or long it will take - but, I AM going to learn how to read Korean so that I can enjoy video messages such as this. Thanks dcinmb. π
Kathryn, will we see you on βFrom Now On, Showtime!β MDL page? Iβm gonna miss you so much. π
I'm pretty sure I will visit the page, but currently I can only view on DramaCool. At some point, I will ask my fellow Crazy Love friends to advise on how to best watch Eng Sub Kdrama {from USA} w/out spending outrageous sums of $$$. Thanks to you, I purchased a VPN to access Disney+ Asia. I'm kinda a stickler for doing it "legal" - and i figure DramaCool must be "legal" or they would have been crushed/closed by now. Elif Kim - you are such a cheerful fan - I love your posts,/comments. You are a positive karma person. Own it. And now. . . .Emojis! ππππππ

Thank you all for the recommendations for KDramas to watch in the future that have the same "vibe" as Crazy Love. Will help with my CL withdrawal - however, I vow to never become so obsessed with a TV show again! I must return to real life but the last month here has been fun - and informative about KDramas in general and Korean culture as well.
This morning (my tiime) I watched the first few minutes of "From Now On, Showtime!" and it definitely has the same "crazy" vibe as CL. Died laughing when the female cop INCORRECTLY guessed that the two ladies had taken a trip together because of the tissue boxes and she was so proud of her observation ability. π€£ Ghosts/spirits are not my usual preference, but I will give it a try. And I know if I have questions, I will find answers on the MDL board.
I don't believe this has been posted yet - it's a different wedding photo - Enjoy
