I'm not sure he is her father. My impression is that he was living with (not married or even engaged) the girl's mother and the mother abandoned the child. But I thought the explanation of relationships was very poor - perhaps Korean understood quickly (based on the use or non-use of honorifics), but the writer could have done a better job of inserting dialogue that would help clarify.

I'm here because of Seo Ji Hoon (ML#2) but very disappointed he was barely on screen thus far and virtually no explanation of his(or Tae Rin's) back-story.

Truly one of the most boring dramas I have every watched. Would be dumping it if not for the 2nd couple - their background/history is far more intriguing.

I just checked and the 1st two episodes are already released. Unfortunately, I don't have time to watch yet. 😢😢😢

You said "delicious angst" but angst-anything is not my cup of tea. Rom-com plus Suspense, mystery, danger??? I'm good but that Ep 12 break-up is why I have dropped many rom-com kdramas. (where the ef is the comedy??)

Two of my early favorites were WWWSK and Private Lives - but I binge-watched them. They never actually broke up at any point, but so much of the last several episodes were pure filler/tension. Looking back, I think it worked f (for me) because I could immediately move forward. If watching currently, I need a reason to return the next week.

I'll repeat: crossing fingers that this drama is tightly written/directed because I DO love me my Jung So Min.

The building at the end is the National Assembly - Korea's national legislature. Not sure if the pin on the guys lapel pin denotes a member of the Assembly or someone in what they call the "ministerial" staff (Secretary General). Regardless, he's someone important.

"Crazy Love"!!! My all time favorite and nothing came close until this year's "Art of Negotiation". So - those two are tied for first place on my favorite list.

I agree with you about Crash course. In my experience, the most successful rom-com/mystery dramas are 12 episodes. 1-4 episodes: Introduction (characters, plot, mystery). 5-8 The plot solidifies and romance starts (infamous ep. 8 first kiss). 9-12: a bit of romance, a bit of danger The End. My Troublesome Star is also following this pattern.

Sixteen episodes become a burden (I usually drop at Ep. 10/11 because the plot is still in limbo).

Can't wait - always love to watch Jung So Min.

There's more to the drama than simply "contract marriage" type rom-com. Apparently there is a murder (accident?) mystery element as well that explains why the ML is a perfectionist. Since it's only 12 episodes, here's hoping it's tightly written/directed.

The 1st accident was immediately (same night??) after she won the award and she thanked "####" (I forget the number for the detective). So, there was certain amount of time between the scenes at the police station and the award ceremony and since both young actors are "supporting", I think we might see more flashback scenes of them between those two events.

He's the reason I put this on my watchlist and fortunately, the drama itself is worth watching.

I think it's #1. I'm enjoying the show, but if they give us some sort of "she was living wretched/poor job for 20 years and acting as if she had no memory this entire time", then I - as a viewer - would feel totally scammed.

The story is enjoyable because there is a mystery and the detective (Song Seung Heon - the main reason I'm giving this a try) is going to gradually put the pieces together. If she's scamming him as well? I'll rate this at the bottom of my drama list.

Your Theory #3 also fits with #1 - after the accident, her manager stole her $$. But he was able to blackmail the b**ch actress because somehow she is tied to the rich guy. He probably pimped her out to the rich guy (just as he tried with "Im Se-ra").

For the last 20 (25?) years, she had no memory of "Im Se Ra" or her life as an actress. Those are the clothes she has been wearing when she was living a different life - a miserable job, very poor and likely an "engineered" memory. She can't afford new clothes, make-up or hair stylist.

He is the reason why I will give it a try. 😊

Why do insult people like that. I would give you an answer - and in fact I'm watching Season 1 right now - but you don't deserve an answer.

I fell asleep during Ep. 1, but it was a bit late at night. I wore up in time for the last few minutes - and I don't think I missed much. Regardless Yeom Jung Ah was awesome - such a difference from her landmark role in Sky Castle.

I'm planning to watch because of Yoo Joon Sang (a favorite since AoS) but I've never cared for Kim Jae Young. Hoping there's enough pleasantness to keep me watching.

I loved it. One of my favorite dramas - partly the plot/story, partly because Yu-ri and Il-woo were such fun.

Theo is the legitimate son (he's in photo with Dad and sister). Everyone in Sanin believes that Theo is still in the USA - it's not clear if Dad even knows he returned 3 years ago after the Jumbo Pharma debacle. Doctor Daughter is "mute" - she never speaks. I bought the Script Book (1000 pages!) a few weeks ago and in that last ultrasound scene, the script direction is very specific - she is NOT to speak. I have no idea how she and Theo hooked up - she was not wearing a wedding ring 3 months (September) before that ultrasound (December).

I'm pretty sure that Ju-no is the Chairman's illegitimate son - or, at least, they've laid the foundation for that if they wish to go there in Season 2.
