I dont understand why Min Jeongwoo is opposing end of Monarchy , isnt it good for him as well
The position of Prime Minister is appointed by the Monarch/King. I suppose if there is no monarchy, then the PM would be elected by the National Assembly? In current day Korea, there is no prime minister and the President is elected by the voting population.
I guess some writers feel that viewers don't need detailed explanations for every situation or circumstance that…
A truly excellent writer connects the dots. Red herrings allowed (in small doses), but contradictions and plot holes are the hallmarks of lazy writing that relies on style, fluff, visuals.
Jin Mu the villain? you can't get any lazier than that.
While researching on various web site, I discovered that many of the "facts" in the drama are actually based on various events in the Joseon Annals, although names, dates and relationships are not exact. The character of "Huibin" Kang (Netflix translation) is loosely based upon the life of Heebin Jang whose birth name was Jang Ok-jeong.
Ep. 4 Pre-release and my i-phone translation and the translation on the link do not perfectly align, , but w/out a doubt, the following is accurate at a minimum.
Se-gy reads her "fan" letter but it's in Chinese. He tries to translate on his own, gives up and uses AI (which may or may NOT be accurate, lol). He says "if someone saw this, they would think it is a love letter."
Puppy (abandoned street dog??) grabs the original, smaller notes fall out {and this is where my iphone translation and translation at the link did NOT mesh] and if I understood correctly, HER handwriting doesn't translate perfectly to 2026 Hangul and he says {BOTH translations confirm this} "This woman likes me."
I had the distinct impression that, unlike Seo-ri and Se-gye, Mun-do remembers his past - and he remembers how…
It was the way they showed the past manipulation and immediately segued to the present manipulation using the exact same characters.
But you're probably right that it will be the dream discussion that will trigger memories. But perhaps for Mon-du, they will be memories wihle Se-gye still believes them to be mere dreams. That would be interesting.
I'm beginning to wonder if Joseon ML (Grand Prince) ever learned Dam-sin's full name before she was named Royal Consort? In fact, does the viewer know her birth name versus palace name or are they the same. So many puzzle pieces.
do not trust mdl ratings anymore and always give it a try, while you are curious.this site is already filled with…
This isn't about the ratings - I was complaining about how they manage the "watchlist" which I check out from time to time to see if something I identified as "plan to watch" has begun to air.
But yes, the MDL ratings are meaningless and the catalyst for fan wars - but MDL advertising$$ depend on # of "users" - number of comments, etc. It's especially fraudulent how they allow someone to claim they have watched all - for example - 16 episodes and rate it 1βafter the 1st episode. π‘π‘
After trying - and pausing/giving up - Perfect Crown, Sold Out on You, and Filing for Love I've found something that is Must Watch the moment it releases (early am my time).
My one sad? Favorite actor Oh Man Seok plays a baddie in this one. He's usually a kindly father/mentor figure.
I'm also crossing fingers that Se-gye isn't as stupid as he appears thus far. He noted that Mun-do isn't the type to bring a plant as a gift and then proceeds to blab away to his doctor friend about his dreams? I hope it's a trap.
It's his mask which can't make her remember him yet.
Joseon Days: The sun was in her eyes the first time she saw him, but then she dropped to the ground and he had to tell her several times to look up. Back in those days, lowly people were not supposed to look into the faces of royals/nobles. 2nd time (today's episode) he was behind some sort of screen. He keeps telling her to look up. He keeps asking her name, but they get interrupted.
It's something to look forward to - the moment she realizes that he looks the same OR recognizes that his soul has also reincarnated.
I really hate MDL sometimes. This show has been on my watchlist and I rely on MDL to inform the viewers when something is "airing". But apparently if something drops all at one, no notification. I wouldn't have known except that I turned on Netflix early this am to watch My Royal Nemesis.
I have a question about the very end/epilogue and the 2ML. Spoiler question below.
I had the distinct impression that, unlike Seo-ri and Se-gye, Mun-do remembers his past - and he remembers how he used Dam-sin to hurt his younger brother.
Its a Korean drama, there is no censorship. She doesn't need to go back or even disappear. But yes a reincarnation…
The Modern Day Shaman (not really believing her words) said something like her soul may have traversed the ages or possessed a body. When asked if there is a difference, she said "well, to get technical, there is a BIG difference but in reality they're alike".
So I think it's reincarnation.
Moreover, when she came to her senses in modern day, she was collapsed on the ground (perhaps unconscious) - and Seo-ri was still sick from the flu ("you're burning up"). Kang believes she is possessing a body - so the happy ending will be much better if she learns that she didn't destroy another soul. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it for now. π
Who else thinks Se Gye died after eating something that Seo ri brought to him in the past life after which Mundo…
Mmmmmm. . . .I think Joseon ML is smarter than that. And she has a 6th sense that would stop her. But I do think the King plans to sweep her away in order to hurt his younger brother. If he wants her for his royal concubine, the younger brother would have no choice.
I don't like that both male leads got reincarnated along with FL, this is so beaten to death. Now of course they…
I prefer reincarnation to "soul possession", but agree that it's nothing new. Glad we know up-front however, rather than hinting "is it/is it not?" like "Destined with You."
"My Royal Nemesis" is #1 on Netflix Global Non-English. I think it may stay on top for many weeks. πππ
The surprise in this show (for me) is that they are already showing us the connection between the Joseon and modern era - no mystery as to who the bad guy is; no mystery as to what happened in the past (altho more to be revealed as to WHY things happened in the past). That's one reason I dropped Crown Prince - the palace intrigue has been fuzzy/mushy/contradictory.
I donβt think they wanted to belabor the whole getting up to speed with modern technology. There have already…
Good explanation and I fully expect at least one blockbuster episode where she finally comes to terms with her current status and that she must give up/abandon the "royal" persona. In some ways, she already has - she realizes that Seo-ri had a difficult life, she has one person (grandmama) that loves her and she is determined to get vindication for Seo-ri.
Yeah its possible that she died from overwork, as you said. But there is also a very interesting theory by someone…
That's a great theory - I hope they take credit so we can applaud - because I've been trying to figure out how this will work since most other "soul possession" plots require one soul to eventually leave the body.
Jin Mu the villain? you can't get any lazier than that.

It's fun to speculate.
