I need some answers from the viewers. So, usually i don't start a drama until i have confirmed that it has a happy…
From the MDL synopsis: "An investigative occult romance drama about a hotel heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who team up in a CHAOTIC partnership."
And this drama delivers that chaotic partnership, firing on all cylinders with humor, bickering, mystery, and slow burn romance. One of my favorite kdrama couples ever and I can't imagine they won't have a happy ending - viewers would riot if they ditch the humor and go for some tacky heart breaking end.
As of Ep. 6, we are at the stage where the viewer knows (sees) that they are attracted to each other, but the FL (because of her curse) doesn't want to admit it. Classic slow-burn which means that once they become an official "in love" couple, there won't be enough time for a stupid misunderstanding/break-up.
I'm recovering from surgery right now, so spending my time re-watching the first episodes - lots to enjoy.
Tuesday Trivia. Someone posted what looks like a pop-up sale (future) for Spooky in Love merch with 4 items. See link below. Of particular interest is:
1. "Date Booster Bracelet" - I don't think we've seen it yet but hopefully it shows up during their fake dating era.
2. The necklace. It's called Suho (μνΈ) necklace. Suho means guardian/protection.
Why is everyone just presuming that ji hwan and yeori were in a romantic relationship. So far, there has been…
I thought the same the 1st couple of episodes. They were only 20 years old at the time, so the likelihood of some grand romance is slim to none. .
But lately they've been throwing out hints (hopefully red herrings) that Min-hwan also "loved" her and may have been jealous of her relationship with Ji-hwan. And then that stupid heart transplant seems to also point to romantic follow-through - I really hate that sub-plot but that sort of "fate" element is popular in Asian dramas so I have to close my eyes to it.
Seong Deok Mi in "Her Private Label Life" learned to hide that part of her life from society: family,…
Lol, but you spurred me to do some quick research.
Deok Mi was 33 years old in Her Private Lives (that's the Netflix title). Also, her "crush" was a current idol and much younger (23 yrs). But yes, her apartment was a shrine, much like Nam De Reum.
Nam De Reum is ~29 years old and this is not her first full time position. It's not clear how much she hides her idol worship but she changed jobs in the hopes of working for her him. That's why I find her very immature for her age and why I hope she grows up soon because my fave Kang Hoon deserves a better plot/romantic partner than what we see on the screen right now.
Waiting until 60% episode drop? You have more will power than me!
Kang Hoon is one of my favorite actors and he's playing unemotional/smart CEO perfectly.
But I can't stand the FL character - silly, immature sitting at ground zero of the adulting stage. I hope she begins to grow up - and soon.
Park Min Young played a similar role in "Her Private Lives" - one of the first kdramas I ever watched. But her character acknowledged that her fangirling of the idol was a hobby and she didn't dream of a real relationship. In the working world she was extremely professional.
I was going to watch it for the comedy and horror and hoped for something like Phantom lawyer. Is this one similar…
Park Eun Bin said the drama was 50% romance, 30% comedy and 20% occult/horror. To the extent that the drama features the ML and FL 50% of the time, it's accurate. But thus far the relationship is warm/supportive, not "romantic".
Glad they kept the running gag of the torn shirts which is also in the movie.
I haven't seen the movie (and have no interest), but can you explain the significance of the necklace? It's my understanding that in the movie, the girls exchanged the necklace and somehow that determined who lived or died, but that doesn't seem to translate well to the drama. (girl/girl vs boy/girl)
Many folks wondering why there is no big red visible scar and also how Ma Gang-uk could be so healthy. I did some research (AI) and actually the drama is fairly realistic.
After 12 years, the scar would be a thin white 6-8" line from clavicle. The above chest view was minimal in the hospital scene and all other scenes with him shirtless have been his back (I was beginning to wonder if he was out of shape since no sexy frontal shower scenesπ). Maybe the thin white scar will eventually show up - especially if there is some big reveal, but really not very important.
As for his physical strength, heart recipients are actively encouraged to live very active lives and many jog, run half/full marathons, cycle, or do endurance sports. Full contact sports are discouraged but martial arts such which emphasize kicking or arms would be okay. Boxing, wrestling, etc - big no-nos.
His injury was to his HEART - not his head. That's why he went into V-tach but also why he was able to recover quickly once the heart revived. Time frame was ridiculous but the fact that he recovered easily is realistic.
Not sure why you say that. The surgery was 12 years ago. He was in his early '20s. A quick AI search tells us that many heart recipients run marathons and other endurance sports. Not in the 1st couple of years, of course, but after 12 years, totally believable.
My favorite actor Yoo In Soo, who played Gwi-nam in the original, will be discharged from his military service in August. It would be sooooo cool if they had time to film a cameo appearance with him before February release. One can hope!
The next step in their relationship has been broadcast from the beginning, that is: "they team up in a chaotic…
From tvN web site Gang-uks character description "Through a contract engagement with her, he saves her from a difficult situation"
My absolute favorite trope of all - the fake/contract engagement. I suppose the announcement will be at the end of Ep 6 - after they solve the Joseon mystery which I could honestly care less about - but Bring. It. On.

Ha-ri: how is that possible?
Both: because we love each other [Yay - they both say it! πππ₯³π]
