yeah i didn't understand that part in episode 7, even when they talked about the loan on the house.
She may not be chaebol rich, but she handed off briefcases of money to the monks, drove in a chauffeured limousine in Jeju, wears designer clothes and her "rural" farm that she retired to is a large group of hanok buildings.

From the beginning, we have also seen that Gang-uk has some independent wealth beyond his civil service income - the nice car, very lovely home/garden, never complains about money or prices.

Episode 8 was great ❤️!!! (And so were the 7 before it!) So I guess I misunderstood in Episode 1, the FL’s…
I asked AI the question a couple of days ago. Engagement ceremonies were common in traditional Korean era, but largely ignored in modern times. However, they are still held for chaebol and/or high profile couples - big announcement, press, hotel venue.

I agree, he does not seem like someone who got a heart transplant because he drinks, runs, and is way too active…
The running is realistice. It's been 12 years and lots of heart transplant recipients eventually enter half/full marathons.

The occasional heavy drinking is a stretch - but a bit of literary license is forgiveable. Otherwise we would not have had that cute scene where he is calling out her name and puckering up his lips for a kiss.

Episode 8 was so good and some scenes were emotional too. 😭So people like Ha Ri literally just spy on other…
in today's episode, they made the following things very clear:

1. It was Ji-hwan's heart that was transplanted (he was on the gurney going by after they said the donor's heart had been removed).
2. Grandmother Pang and 2ML's mother (Song Hee-won) both know that Ji-whan was the heart donor for Gang-uk.
3. Just my guess, but when Gang-uk and his grandmother visited the shrine in the early episode, he wanted to know who they were praying for, I think it was Ji-hwan. Maybe it was his birthday?

Re: the yacht accident, I think the brothers got into a fight and did something near the controls/steering and as a result, Yeo-ri fell into the water. Min-hwan ran to that spot, but I'm guessing we will eventually see that it was Ji-hwan who dived into the water to try and save her. Just my guess at this point.

ep 8 preview https://x.com/i/status/2086233496398279061
W/ English translation, but I think the last line is wrong - he is talking about the football guy's proposal.

"Dining at a proposal hotspot ✔️
Ice cream dessert makes an appearance ✔️
Next up, the ring...?"

Warning: although the sneak peek is for Ep. 8, tvN has a history of including scenes in the end-of-episode preview that won't appear until the following weekend. I will be ticked off if we don't get the proposal tomorrow!!!

Actually, viewers have the wrong idea about Prosecutor Ma's speedy recovery. In episode 4 in order to keep the…
Well, I think the part of him getting dressed again and walking out was unrealistic, but as I said last week, easily forgivable. Another unrealistic angle is his heavy drinking - yeah, I looked it up and heart transplant recipients are at risk for a variety of problems if they are heavy drinkers. But, it's not a plot hole - it's a stretch and therefor okay for a fictional drama.

As for the jogging, it was shown immediately after the scenes with the heart transplant so I took it be a scene from years ago when he was beginning to recover.

Now I'm beginning to worry that Min-hwan's attack will be physical/dangerous for Gang-uk. I've been assuming that he would do something to Yeo-ri and perhaps make her question Gang-uk's integrity, but after considering your points, attacking Gang-uk makes more sense if he is determined to eliminate a rival.

Folks talk about "plot holes" w/r/t this drama, but as someone who hates 'em and watches pretty rigorously (taking notes), I think it's the wrong term for this drama.

"A plot hole is an inconsistency, discontinuity, or logical flaw in a storyline—something that contradicts earlier established facts, breaks the story’s own rules, or leaves an unresolved gap that cannot be explained by the information given to the audience."

There have been some unrealistic moments (the insta-recovery from heart failure for example), but thus far the plot and facts are consistent - still some mysterious gaps to be filled in, but nothing big Except the 10 year/12 year date of the yacht incident and I think they probably filmed the early scenes stating 10 years and recognized the problem and corrected later. So, yes - plot hole but not significant to the story.

For the record, I finally ditched My Royal Nemesis because the plot holes (unexplained - as in why or how - events and breaking the story's own rules). But this writer has carefully woven previous scenes to current time, incorporated more flashbacks that fill in the gap (but don't contradict the past). Really an amazing job from my standpoint.

I barely saw it - thought maybe it was a flashback to the past. But no matter what, Ji-whan is NOT going to scare the ML away after spending so much effort bringing them together. Especially since Gang-uk has Ji-hwan's heart.

I hope our ML isn't afraid of the lift ghost. But I'm wondering why it comes up only during the engagement day…
The lift ghost is Ji-hwan. He knew that the fiance was no good, so he scared him off from the engagement. the 2ML thinks that the lift ghost will appear again. WRONG - because Ji-whan has been working overtime to bring Gang-uk and Yeo-ri together.

my bet is on Min-hwan doing smth to Ji-hwan because on that boat~
From the beginning,, I believed that Ji-hwan was bringing Yeo-ri and Gang-uk together (all of those coincidental meet-ups) so that they could work together to discover who caused the yacht accident. But I had an open mind - could have been several other family members.

But, writer has zeroed in on Min-hwan so I guess that's the end game.

I also hate delulu second leads who were absent for years and then appear out of nowhere obsessed with main lead.…
I would rather have a delulu second lead than a sympathetic one. But I look at it this way - because Min-hwan returned to Korea now, Ji-hwan has taken this opportunity to bring Yeo-ri and Gang-uk together over and over again (what, viewers thought it was just coincidence???). I absolutely believe Ji-hwan had something to do with the mix-up at the Jeju hotel. Our lovey couple is the means for Ji-hwan to finally reach the afterlife.

in other words, there would be no story if Min-whan was a nice guy. 😊

Spooky in Love is all about the relationship between Cheon Yeo-ri and Ma Gang-uk, but tvN has outlined the sub-plots for the final 6 episodes. It’s very predictable (yes, Yeo-ri will escape the curse; yes, Ji-wan will reach the afterlife; and yes the “villains” will lose – all thanks to our hero Ma Gang-uk)

But because it’s predictable, we can enjoy all of the fun and joy of Yeo-ri and Kang-uk working as a team and falling in love. I haven't adored a kdrama couple this much since. . . .well, it's been at least 3 years. Min-hwan will definitely cause problems and I’m guessing it will center on Yeo-ri’s fear of trusting anyone, including Gang-uk as he investigates the money laundering crimes involving her family/hotel. I can’t help but wonder if the yacht incident somehow involved art smuggling. Anyway, here’s the 4 sub-plots as outlined by tvN.

1 Kang Min-hwan plans to reveal the true colors and move to separate Cheon Yeori and Ma Gang-uk.
2 Ma Gang-uk also feels uncomfortable with Kang Min-hwan. [Elsewhere I read that Gang-uk’s investigations lead to the final answers)
3 Attention is also focused on the secret behind the curse surrounding the thousand or so ri. Cheon Yeori barely survived after losing her friend Kang Ji-hwan (played by Kim Min-chul) in a yacht accident 12 years ago.
4 Above all, since Kang Ji-hwan, who died in a yacht accident, has become a ghost and has not left Cheon Yeori's side, interest is focused on whether Cheon Yeori can escape the curse and why Kang Ji-hwan was unable to reach the afterlife.

Episodes 7-8 are fake dating/proposal mode, 9/10 is probably when Min-hwan's schemes swing into full gear and 11-12 will be the final battle. Can't wait.

In the last episode why did Seo Ri agree to the group dinner? Is it just purely out of jealousy curiosity?
Seems to have started because of curiosity (ML previously told her they weren't dating). But it quickly turned into jealousy as Ms. Im talked about all the times she and ML spent time together. Motive not very important because it led to one of the funniest scenes in the drama.

S: "i see a walking corpse before me! you stand here, defying the fate that condemned you to death. the spirits…
Thanks for sharing.

Are you certain she's in highschool in the webtoon? in the drama, she met with a shaman who told her that "granting their [the spirits/ghosts] wishes is the only way your life can continue." But this was after the accident when she was supposedly in college. Of course, it looks like writer/director has changed the time line. Earlier episodes said the accident was 10 years ago when in college - around age 20 for her and the twins. Now, we are told it was 12 years ago.

tvN just dropped some new photo stills plus a significant description of what is to come in the 2nd half of the drama. Specifically, someone woke up and realized their time line was off and now the official yacht incident was indeed 12 years ago (bleah)

tvN's weekend drama 'Chilling Love' . . centers on the collaboration between Cheon Yeo-ri (played by Park Eun-bin) and Ma Kang-wook (played by Yang Se-jong), unfolding a variety of stories including his relationship with Kang Min-hwan (played by Ong Sung-woo) and the secret behind the chilling curse. In response, the production team has summarized the key points to watch in Act 2.
, , , , After much deliberation, Cheon Yeori surprised everyone by announcing her engagement to Ma Kang-wook in front of her family and Kang Min-hwan.

As a result, attention is focused on why the two chose a sham engagement with their families and Kang Min-hwan, and what will happen next. Especially since they have gradually opened their hearts to each other through various incidents together, there is anticipation to see if this fake engagement will lead to a real romance.

Kang Min-hwan's actions are another point to watch. Kang Min-hwan, who had long cherished Cheon Yeori, who treated him as a friend even after learning he had been adopted, earned Baek Kyung-ja's trust and pursued the engagement as soon as he returned from studying abroad, but Ma Kang-wook's arrival stalled the plan.As a result, attention is focused on why the two chose a sham engagement with their families and Kang Min-hwan, and what will happen next. so i looked through like 10 pages of reviews on this and they are savage. they were reviewed so poorly how is…
Back in 2024, the early reviews were quite positive and the over all MDL rating supports that. But around the time of allegations made against Kim Soo Hyun, the mob appeared and began to upvote the negative reviews. It was obvious and in real time. If you look deep you will see that most of the low/negative reviews have 30-40+ "helpful" votes.

It's a roller coaster ride - never a dull moment. I recently did a re-watch with focus on scenes with the main couple and their families. Just as enjoyable the 2nd time around.
