Oh yes because the fake marriage plot is so rare....
Fake marriages aren't rare overall among tropes but at least it hasn't been in every single drama that has come out this year and pretty much all of last year which was my point. In fact i can't name one kdrama with the fake marriage plot in a thriller genre from recent times. The last one was probably Happiness from 2021. Also at least from the summary, it sounds like an arranged marriage which is different from a contract marriage trope which has all the terms laid out ahead and there's an end date to the charade as well and the couple agree to it beforehand, while arranged marriage could also be a contract marriage but not exclusively. There r many people around the world in arranged marriages who don't really love each other but it would be unwise to call it a "contract/fake marriage". They are still in a regular marriage, it's just not very happy, that's all.

Personal petition for chae soo bin to be the female lead ahhhh...she's the queen of angst imo and such a good actress. I miss seeing her in dramas and she'd be a perfect fit for this plot with chae jong hyeop. We had the kim couple, and thejung couple, now please give me the chae couple :")

Title DNA Lover
Someone on another site disparaged OG Kdrama lovers by saying they were hating on DNAL. For one thing placing…
Tbf everyone's entitled to their own choices and one person's classic doesn't have to be another person's. One example being that there r dramas in your list of classics that I have dropped and won't be watching over and over again.

Title DNA Lover
There's a dialogue in DNA Lover that goes something like, "I shouldn't like her, but I do" and that pretty much summarizes my exact experience with this show so far lmao xD

It's completely over the top and has some downright ridiculous moments and skewed explanation of genetics and biology but it's somehow still managed to be oddly very entertaining and has been holding my attention more than the more popular dramas that are airing rn. There's also a surprising amount of depth in the show, discussing topics that are rarely otherwise seen in kdramas. The couple dynamics are also quite new and interesting.

Overall, it's been very refreshing so far. Honestly, at this point I'd rather take a completely wacky out of the basket concept like this one than the same old loved-each-other-since-we-were-embryos theme that all the drama writers across East Asia are seemingly on board lately
