I mean I don't really understand what type of emotions you're looking for, this is a thriller, action, crime, mystery sort of thing, not a typical romance tragic story to be 100% focused on emotions and Big Mouth still have some nice romance and sad moments in it even if it's not the focus. The plot mostly revolve around revenge...etc and basically everyone are cruel and dark so you can't expect the characters to be as emotionally colorful as other genres. This dramas plot is fiction, I know, but doesn't mean anything can also be viewed as normal and something to defend just cause "it's fiction". Although some try to have a straight couple in the end, they don't really push it too much so I hope you give them a try, Chinese know to make beautiful emotional plots).
