I love this drama, the cast, and the story so much but now that
I just finished the novel "Liang Chen Mei Jin by Chen Xiang Hui Jin,
I wish this drama could’ve been a truer adaptation although I know there were reasons for so many changes *sigh*

Before that scene actually. It was when his niecewent to ask for a prize for CXQ to put up because the one GJZ put up was very expensive. He explained to person what the paperweights were (they had images on them) and the meaning he then picked out 2 not same color to present and when they showed what the prize was she gasped.
There was a detailed explanation on iQIYI but Viki said take this white jade and green jade hahah no explanation

I used to think Viki was the best but the whole gift set (forget what it’s called -the paperweight jades) was totally different during the garden party. IQIYI explained it so much better what each one was and why he chose two different ones for the winner of that riddle so we could understand why she was taken aback.

I’m so enamored of them and their story. I started a rewatch too. I started this on iQIYI but started watching on Viki when they finally started streaming it. I like to see the differences in translations.
