Great comedic drama! The FL and the sidekicks really slayed their roles! I like the ML. He’s got great visuals and seems like a really nice guy but I think his acting career started too high on the hierarchy, like he needed to work his way up longer to master the craft. He gets better with every role so far though and I hope he learns from his costars like from a master class. I love Bae Na Ra and hope to see him in a leading romance role one day. When watching this I kept thinking he and CEW could have easily swapped roles. It would’ve been a great role for CEW, psychologically damaged and disfigured.
It’s a fictional alternate universe where apparently the whole foreign occupation never happens either were they upset about that historical change too?
Ep14I continue to really feel for Ye Xian (HeirApparent). No one is on his side but he just keeps up with his…
The iQIYI subtitle said desperate instead of despair. And both makes sense. His despair makes him desperate. For his father’s recognition (more than his love) and and it seems he latches onto people’s kindness towards him. I don’t hate him, I pity him and she doesn’t need a pitiable man when she has her own issues.
I started on iQIYI but now I’m rewatching on Viki since it came there. It’s interesting in the difference between translations. At first I thought Viki way superior but iQIYI has been clearer in some situations like the whole jade paper weight scene, the whole garden party conversations were better and more in depth than on Viki. But to Viki viewers they wouldn’t know and really didn’t miss much except Yan Yun’s explanation of what the jade colors and images meant and shows how it again made him admire her.

I will miss this zany cast of characters!
They’re still the best but no longer infallible to me now.

Came for Tian Xi Wei. Staying to see how they wrap it up.
Ci Sha showed Yan Yun’s horrified disappointment so well while not giving anything away. He will rectify this.
