Watching on iQIYI then find out it’s now on Viki so I’ve started it again lol just for translation clarification!
And because I love it.
Sixteen minutes in and Viki clearly subtitles that Chen Xuan Qing is Fifth Chen Master’s Adopted Heir which IQIYI did not leading to confusion on my part.
There’s already been some translations that seem to be more in line with what that era would say not modern speech like
“they hate him so much they’d like to eat his flesh and sleep on his skin” versus “they want to assassinate him”. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Haha yeah I usually skip them but for some reason when I started kdramas (long before I started cdramas) I would watch on first and last episodes I guess because they spent money on them and the creator teams deserve a watch too I think.
I’ve noticed a trend lately of a cold opening with the intro coming in like 2-5 minutes later so it can’t be automatically skipped by the OTT apps.

Intro and outro is perfect! You described it well. I’m always scared to watch those in cdramas because they spoil so much.
I even had to Google that when I first started watching CDramas. It has do with Chinese story telling style so I calmed down and quit being mad lol and just skip when I need to.

But they were very nice together in their beginning before that jealous witch ruined it on the cliff

Having no prior knowledge of any history involved in this drama, I watched with no expectations. I enjoyed it. 8/10

I’ve only seen him in One and Only, and Forever and Ever, both with Bai Lu as FL and loved him that’s why I began to watch this. He may not be a pretty boy but to me he is definitely not ugly.
I’ve got some of his other dramas on my to watch list too.

They had a lovely relationship in The Rise of Ning until they didn’t.
I like the ML and hated to hate him as 2ML in that drama so this will be good hahah
