i agree with u! the whole era accepts a 'good match' is like the best thing a woman can look for... even our main lead before her family is executed was looking forward to a match... first sister is a classic young n naive but also susceptible. Du realized this to influence her. her ego will take the best of her. while second sister will need to outgrow her selfdoubt.

i hope second sister uses her smartness instead of just being scared

she dodged the bullet there! du almost suspected our FL then but du underestimated her. lanxiang is still a step ahead with the chess board

with that number of episodes i can see how the story is at a great pace. there are a few nuanced characters too beyond the main couple so its nice... the plot, clues and the complicity building between the main couple is evolving very nicely!!

our FL has been far away from du's radar so far , i hope lanxiang can stay ahead before she is targeted by du, because du and her bro are fishy as hell

its a classic historical cdrama but i like that its not fast paced 47 episodes!!!

u cant deny the impact it had in the cdrama world... even if it failed in aspects, in others it shined

still listen to the ost sometimes until now... one of the best drama of 2026

looking back at 2026, i only find 1-POJ and 12- love for you the most impactful!but i didn't try road to splendor, 1970's and between the lines yet...
all the rest i dropped somehow even if they start off strong like how dare you and first jasmine...even POJ i was close to give up bc of the second underwhelming half...

Also here are 3 i enjoyed but aren't mentioned:
-veil of shadows ( great woven plot!)
-love has fireworks ( modern drama but filmed a few yrs ago, it was both cringe & funny)
-phenix heart ( i dare say i also dropped it by the end but it was enjoyable)

will add road to splendor, 1970's and love between the lines to my watchlist!

i noticed in cdramas if main couple get 'happy days' ( aka their time together when he was a dr)= SE 😭
susu said 'these were the happiest days of my life' as if they could never have happy carefree days together again.
but we never know.

there's definitely more to the mother, from the pattern of the episodes, we may get to know the past of bozai/and mother. especially that we still don't know how the mixup happened.
from a mother perspective maybe she cant let go of feeling like qinyi stole away the person she thought was her son. so its definitely resentment.

exactlyyy what i thought after watching the newest ones!!
even in the dialogue scenes actors get a little more room for expressions now, definitely more depth to the story
