if they do accurately follow the novel, the next scene will be horrendous. i hated you know who that moment, iykyk.…
I haven't read this novel but I did her others and sadly I know how it goes ๐คฎ At least no snake checking girls virginity in this one (fingers crossed) ๐คข
HONESLTY... i just couldnโt really think of anything else to add for my fave thai bls, thatโs why I just decided…
From TW HIStory 1 - Obsessed is my guilty pleasure ๐คซ (I would have liked HIStory 2 - Right or Wrong more if not for the questionable power dynamic... they are both adults but it doesn't change the fact that ML was MC's professor and that made it creepy - I was there for cute family interactions, thou) For me HIStory 3 was fine (I didn't care much about the mains but 2nd couple was the main reason I watched, thou it ended kind of weird for them, like some parts were cut ๐คทโโ๏ธ). Have you seen We Best Love (both seasons)? It's a must ๐ Beacuse of You just needed more EPs (or cut one of the bros storyline - the 2nd ones I could go without) but it was my 1st TW BL and "gateway drug" ๐คญ DNA Says Love You had some issues but the concept is quite interesting (and we get rare thing in BLs - already established couple, especially as 2nd couple). Be Loved in House: I do is not groundbreaking but nice watch (I don't get why Little Prince choose ๐น in oryginal but here definitely ๐ฆ was irresistible ๐คญ).
Iโve left the Thai BLs a year ago. I think ITSAY, and 2gether were the best ones they ever had. I tried watching…
Let me disagree a bit when it comes to Thai productions. I was not able to finish ITSAY - it just never pulled me in. And when it comes to 2gether... really, high five? ๐ People loved KinnPorshe and I thought it was quite good (their budget must have been higher than many other combined) but not in my top. Love in the Air was one of the better ones from last year. However for me, on "That top" is Not Me. If you haven't seen it, I would seriously recommend it (it was this role that made me Gun's big fan; unpopular opinion but I don't get swooning over Off's looks ๐คทโโ๏ธ).
I know that it's all about personal taste but I wouldn't cross off Thai works. They all make better and worst BL: I usually like JP but Zenra Meshi was just meh, same with KR All the Liquors/New Employee/The Director who buys me Dinner/Love Mate or TW's Plus Minus/My Tooth Your Love (2nd couple got potential that was squashed and I totally don't get point of the 3rd). I tried several Philippine series (Gameboys/Like in the Movies/MyDay/Stay) and just can't find them as appealing - low budget Mr. Cinderella from VT was for me better (Stupid Genius just needed a bit more EPs and it would have been fine).
I can agree about Stay with Me - it's one I am waiting for every week and I don't care if they kiss or not, as they really don't need words or grand actions to convey feelings (why dubbing, thou? I know it's CH standard but it would have been better without). I also like that it's about family (Duo is super adorable) - doesn't matter with which we started, we can always build one that is the best for us.
I also found The Eighth Sense to be in my "KR top" with Our Dating Sim (and Semantic Errorr/To My Star).
Is it just me or is the fact that a disabled person is used as a "comic relief" really problematic?
From the trailer I kind of thought that he was pretending to be disabled - but that doesn't make it better IMO. He is also "heavier" than the rest, so that might be his main joke "feature" (for example actress Sammy was often getting fat jokes in the series for not being super slim, like the other girls ๐). If they make the series a comedy and everyone is more or less on the same level of "comic relief" then it would not be so bad (hopefully).
Can you give title of the book? I would love to read something non-r*py (I am fighting to finish book 3 of Love Syndrome and let me tell you - it's a fight!)
MC - major character (in BLs usually "uke/shou/bottom"). ML - male lead (in BLs usually "seme/gong/top"). I added numbers to make it clear who is with whom - MC No. 1 is with ML No. 1, similarly MC2 and ML2 (I will admit that the names slip my mind often ๐ณ). The book mailny focuses on MC1 (guy hitting his head with bricks) and ML1 (guy MC1 ex-GF fancies) but MC2 (doc and MC1 friend) and ML2 (rich snake man) are quite important and - in my opinion - more interesting pair.
Anyone else feel a little bit bad for Su Yu's mom? When the scene came up where her mom kept calling him but he…
They mentioned that in 10 years prior she contacted them 5 times, so once every 2 years or so. For me it's not surprising that Su Yu would keep his distance - given history he might think that it's just temporary interest and she is going to get bored soon and leave them for another years. She gave him no basis to believe that she changed (it seems like money are still the most important to her and solution to every problem is to throw them at it). I can sympathize with her to a point but the fact is that she is facing consequences of her own actions - she cannot expect instant forgiveness (or any at this point). Maybe if she proven herself to be better... but the woman cared so little that she didn't even know the school her bio son was attending (and that her stepson transfered at all) - where are pictures of her son or anything showing she thought/cared about him all those years? Would she be even talking about him if not to brag that he is top of the school?
Just a short answer for @coco who after replying to my comment, went and blocked me! Well, I guess from your point…
I agree with most what you said and would like to add that the only one what was heavily traumatized by it is Tai (he is 2nd oldest, right? + he is at least 20 what it happened) - even the youngest (4th) took it better, so I think that Tai being Tai has something to it as well.
I have not watched "oryginal" and haven't read this book (read her others, so I am simply not going to torture myself). Having said that I ready enjoy this series - I will be waiting for it every week (of the quality doesn't drop) and that's high praise "in my books". All of them are doing great job! The only thing that I don't like (but is Chinese series typical): dubbing. I can always recognise that this is Chinese (and not Taiwanese) due to this factor and it's taking me a bit out of the experience/story. I think "Killer and Healer" had it most prominently but I still loved the series even though it was SE (they did alternative, happy ending with PowerPoint, I think ๐)
can anyone recommend a drama with the side character stories? like a BL where one of them is being bullied and…
Not exactly what you want but if you are into MC being a bit clueless/naรฏve and then trough the course of the series becoming a bit of a badass (his twin is the true badass), then "Not me" is what I would recommend (with a bit of enemies to lovers vibe). Gun is really great at portraying 3,5-4 different people: White, White pretending to be Black, Black and Black half-assing pretending to be White ๐. People love Off and he was doing much better here than in other BLs but who can compare to ageless cutie who can jump higher than his hight? ๐ 2nd couple is fan favourite and there is 3rd couple and they are hetero (which is not happening often in BLs + in book he was in love with Black... but the book is just a big NO), not to mention ghost ships ๐ (Black + final "baddie" and GL). A bit more of what you are looking for: "End of the world with you" (โ ๏ธ p*rn with plot โ ๏ธ), "Unlucky-kun has no choice but to kiss", "Colour Rush" (in book it was clear that he was bullied for being mono - he gave them back more than he got ๐), "Roommates of Poongduck 304", "Semantic Errorr" (MC was indifferent to bullying untill "error" occurred ๐), "You make me dance", "He She It" (๐จ not HE, similarly to "Make our Days count" ๐จ), "I will knock you" (MC is intimidated by/scared off like 5 younger ML ๐).
definitely doesn't make sense as I've seen mostly positive comments on this show.. I legit feel GMMTV fans be…
I agree especially about "Moonlight Chicken" - if not for the LiMing and Heart it wouldn't be worth even 7,5 (I was hoping for more from our 3rd pair but, same as "Cupid's last Wish", it was a real letdown). Unpopular opinion, but I don't think that "Bad Buddy" is worth 8,5. It wasn't enything revolutionary and I don't get why people love that series so much. There were only few GMMTV series that I was anticipating every week and they weren't it (for example: "A tale of 1000 stars" and "Not Me" were).
Perhaps due to her like always doing from r*pe to lovers? I haven't read "Addicted" because I read some of her other "masterpieces" and I always give "Counterattack" (made to a movie, if you are interested look for: "Falling in Love with a Rival") as example just how sick the novels are. MC1 smacks his head repeatedly with brick to stop his GF from leaving him - this always lands him in MC2 clinic. GF wants wealthy BF, so she is pursuing ML1. MC1 decides that the best revenge is to make ML1 like him instead (ML1 has a thing for big bottoms, so MC1 is ideal). ML1 is friends(?) with ML2 (he is chasing MC2 and surprisingly doesn't need r*pe to start being with him... around chapter 100 o.O). Now to some of the disgusting/disturbing parts. ML2 has a snake, who checks girls virginity (you know how ๐คฎ). MC2 had BF, who wanted to break up with MC2 (I don't remember why), so he devised a plot: got some guys to jump MC2 and then they faked r*ping him. MC2 is a doctor, so I don't know why he believed it for so many years (till he was told the truth) but whatever. His ex told him that since now he is "dirty" they have to break up (the whole ex act makes me so ๐คฌ). (I will admit that I like MC2 more than MC1, so I erased most of his dumb plot from my memory ๐)
So the real question here is who would you choose Patts or Lomfon? Honestly Patts gives agressive vibes after…
I will admit that Patts was giving me serial killer vibes (especially his smile) since the beginning. When he was found with the cat in the clinic on his day off, I was like: was he there to kill the puppies? When it comes to Lomfon - I really don't like homewrecker trope. If one knows that the other person is in relationship (he even saw that Tai was happy in it), then 3rd wheel should back off. I would have chosen Tian ๐, as he was the only one who was genuinely supportive (he has his childish moments but there were a lot of moments where he was showing more maturity than Tai). I just hope that Lomfon truly appreciates him, as they are definitely end goal. Tai and Patts both should stay single, get some therapy and perhaps then they could start a relationship (preferably with somebody else).
