That's because it was an adaptation of a BL story. However, they made it a straight romance instead of the "hinted BL, but not really because censorship" like other series (The untamed, Word of Honor, etc.).
I know. It is not fair to the actors to be like made edits insinuating that. This is why the author did not promote…
It's like when people ship a girl and a guy character when the drama has 0 romance to it. They see some chemistry and want them to be together. So they make edits.
People aren't shipping the actors, but the characters.
Yea sometimes it seemed like like YR was just put there in scenes where she was not really needed. I think it…
Since they decide to remove the romance from the drama, I think they should have removed ALL of it. Which means the one-sided love from the girls or even the few hints we got from time to time.
They should have had only a colleague relationship or, at most, friendship.
@Architectofnonsence is talking about Chinese medical drama in their comment. Most of the ones you're talking about are Korean. Triage is Thai and isn't focused on the medical part.
Although, Killer & Healer is a good Chinese drama, it's not a medical drama. Same for Kill me heal me, it isn't a medical drama.
Ep 3, that lady is undergoing surgery without anesthesia? And, idk it's stupid to go forward a surgery with 1%…
He's not a rookie? He did a lot of surgeries when he was in another hospital. Also, it was either do it with 1% chance of survival or not at all and the patient would die. He choose to give it a chance. Plus, he's a genius in a drama, so...
GMMTV has been doing so many remakes lately. Now I’m going to have to watch School 2013…
It's a remake of School 2013? I didn't even notice until I read your comment. The story is quite different. It looks like they'll focus more on the bromance part than the school and teachers.
Just watched the trailer and the CHEMISTRY is already awesome!!!!!!!! I can't wait for the series🥰
Warning: if like me you are tired of the useless debate about bottom/top🙄 you should avoid reading the comment section. I had the misfortune of seeing (not even fully reading) 2-3 comments on this subject and my excitement, which was at 100%, dropped to 90% in 10 seconds. So I won't read anymore until the series is out and I finished watching it to post my review.
At least it's better than 4 minutes' comment section.
I stumbled upon this series while looking for "Akira and Akira"/"Akira to Akira" and I'm glad it happened. I enjoyed this series a lot!
I have to admit the cases weren't captivating enough for my taste, like in some other shows I've seen. And I wish they were more horrific. But that's just a personal taste so it's okay.
The main reason I loved this series is the characters. They were really interesting and I liked learning about them episode after episode. Plus I wanted to know more about Akira's mystery. though even after finishing the series we still don't know.
Note1: I made the mistake of reading comment on the season 2's MDL page. Now I'm afraid of being disappointed by it. So I'll wait until a season 3 is released. I hope it'll happen. And it'll be as good as season 1 or better.
Note2: The bromance is top nosh! I especially loved when they were holding hands in the last episode.
For me it was obvious they loved each other. Not much reading between the line needed. Also for me BL don't need…
I have neither an issues with sexuality nor a higher morality. My issue is when producers use seggs to attract viewers when the plot is uninteresting and boring. I also like seggs when it's well done and adds to the story. But it's not necessary to always have one to show the characters' love.
To give you an example it's like how people who watch k-drama are excited when the characters touch hands when they don't care about kisses in American shows. At some point you want to see other kind of physical affection like hugs, caring about each other, etc. Because with seggs there isn't necessary romance and love. Plus I noticed that in a lot of BL, the only "physical affection" they show is s*x and kisses. They don't show other kind of affection.
Yes straight love has been portrayed in every way possible. However in BL it's mostly by using seggs especially in the last years. There are other ways to show love.
"involves physical affection , involves passion, desires." yes but it doesn't mean s*xual intercourse. There are other ways to show affection other than seggs.
We don't have the same view about BL, you clearly don't understand mine (either because you won't think or I'm not clear enough) and you're way too angry & disrespectful. So I won't reply anymore.
P.S: I insist about the BL part. Because that's what my first comment was about. Not about LGBTQ+ themed movies/series or true representation. Not the same.
An LGBTQ+ themed movie that mostly focuses on Mi Kyung (the mom) and Yong Joon (the boyfriend). First as individuals,…
A lot of people think Yong Joon and Soo Hyun broke up. No they didn't. The way I understand it: They're "on a break" since both are now at different stages of life. They still love each other and are working on their relationship to go back together.
I love the last scene of the movie, where Soo Hyun is lying between the 2 most important people of his life: his mom and his boyfriend.
An LGBTQ+ themed movie that mostly focuses on Mi Kyung (the mom) and Yong Joon (the boyfriend). First as individuals, second on their relationship and how they bond through taking care of Soo Hyun.
At first, all their times are suspended. Soo Hyun's has stopped since he's in a coma. Meanwhile Yong Joon and Mi Kyung are just waiting for him to wake-up, having nowhere to go or anyone else beside Soo Hyun. So they only take care of him. Then, little by little, both face their problems, overcome their difficulties and grow as individuals.
Soo Hyun's mom and Yong Joon's relationship change throughout the movie. First, he's just her son's friend that she likes. Then she discovers their true relationship. So we also follow her journey through her acceptance of him. I like when she says "my 2 sons" towards the end🥹
It's truly a beautiful movie that I highly recommend!
With better writing, this is the kind of plot that could easily be made into a full series. With every 1 or 2 episodes about different investigations. With some supernatural powers. It would be even better if they make it a BL.
For me it was obvious they loved each other. Not much reading between the line needed. Also for me BL don't need…
Like I said their love was obvious. Plus you don't need NC scenes to show the characters' love. It's only in BL there is a need for theses scenes. Not in straight shows. You don't need love for s*x.
So for you a realistic LGBTQ+ rep is s*x + kisses. But no plot or romantic chemistry. Noted.
"the way they treat each other, look at each other, talk to each other, touch each other, converse with their…
Life is beautiful isn't a BL. It's a family drama. We follow all members of the family. So there are heterosexual couples. The eldest son is gay. Like the hetero couples, his partner and he have as much screen time. It's a long TV drama (63 episodes) but there is a cut for the gay couple on bilibili.
I've only seen 1st episode of Deep Night. I was disappointed since a lot of people kept talking about how it's good. So I dropped it for now. But maybe I'll binge watch when I'm in the mood to see if it gets better. Though I wonder why you think it's prostitution. Prostitution "the practice or occupation of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment." Hosts don't have s*x with their clients.
BL are lighter than straight shows. Producers only want money. Fans are happy as long as there is gay love. I was like that when I discovered BL. In 2015 it was worse since there were even less BL. So I was happy with the few we got. I was also younger.
Now there are more BL but the quality isn't that much higher. Sometimes I feel like it got worse because they don't care about making good stories. The plot are still the same and duller at the same time. Though there are few who try new things. For example, I liked "7 days before Valentine".
That's why I often prefer bromance. I'm not talking about Chinese censored BL, but bromances without hetero romance like "Beyond evil". There is an interesting plot and I can ship the guys like I want without any woman coming between them.
I wish 1 day we'll get more BL like straight show with depth in the plot and the emotions while removing NC scenes. For me as long as BL have NC scenes everyone will focus on them while disregarding the plot.
The only BL where I saw Pond was 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us. So I hoped for another mature BL if he's part of the cast. Looks like my hope died like Earth in UWMA.
Saw Bas in 1 series. Not a fan. Maybe he'll be a better actor here?
It was hard for me to finish this movie. Though the last 20-25 minutes were more interesting. I had 3 main problems with it: 1. The "anime happiness, smiling face, always cheerful" in a lot of scenes that just felt too forced.
2. The lack of depth in the characters. It was too short for me to get attached to them and feel involved in their issues. I just didn't care about them.
3. This kind of plot is more suitable for a series rather than a movie. The movie format is too short for a good characters development and for all 7 men to shine individually & together. Also more time for bromance🤭
If this is adapted to a series, I'll surely watch.

About the ending👇
You don't need love for s*x.
So for you a realistic LGBTQ+ rep is s*x + kisses. But no plot or romantic chemistry. Noted.
I was interested in watching it after I saw 1 scene, but didn't want romance between the leads.

Also Oh Dong Joon is a good actor. I hope he'll get more opportunities.
