I honestly didn't even think about his heart rate dropping before seeing her face, but now that you've said it, that seems like the most likely thing to happen. Guess I'm back to tempering my expectations, lol.

Depending on how things continue to play out, I'm either gonna have to give major props or intense criticism to the writers of this drama, because I currently have No idea if he knows it's her or not, and I can't tell if that suspense has been intentionally created or not. Up until today's episode, I was operating under the assumption that he didn't know. My lengthy experience with drama plotlines revolving around a massive lie/secret told me it was the most likely option, and there haven't been any strong enough story hints to make me think otherwise. But today's episode has made me really question this assumption, and now I don't know what to think anymore. It's obvious he's going to get a clear picture of what she looks like in her Veronica persona in tomorrow's episode, and unless this drama decides to pull a 'these two people Clearly look like the same person, but we're going to pretend the main character can't tell' (and the drama Absolutely Might), there's just no getting around it that they are the same person. He's gonna Have to know it's Gal Hee. Add to that the way everything ended this episode with that ridiculously romantic and telling scene next to the tractor....thing, the clear takeaway being him fully recognizing his feelings for her (cause What The Hell Else is that scene supposed to mean?!), and this leads me to believe that he's either known or suspected it was Gal Hee pretending to be Veronica for awhile now and the writers have just kept that information from us to reveal later on. Of course, tomorrow's episode could completely destroy this whole theory and I'll be back to believing he doesn't know. And I'll have to drop that intense criticism I warned about at the beginning of this comment as I'll be one unhappy viewer. If these writers aren't intending to create all this suspense over whether he knows it's her or not, then they are not good writers and I want to write in a complaint.

I like the best friend, but Veronica Park is too much. I'm getting used to her, but I don't think I will ever like her.

I don't think they're relationship changed as much as it might have felt like it did. She just has more of an upper hand now that she knows what she knows and he needs her in a way that is very different from how he did before. Of course, he was a work horse and probably very insensitive before, but that's still there, just greatly reduced because of the circumstances. He can't be too picky or difficult with her, because she will leave if she has to. There have also been hints sprinkled here and there letting us know that he did at least appreciate her to some degree before the accident and the firing, and that he wasn't just a big jerk. He was even hesitant to fire her, and if he hadn't care about her at least a bit, he wouldn't have hesitated. He would have just done it. But there was a level of concern and pre-emptive regret on his part about firing her. So I don't think the relationship between them has changed drastically so much as some things are slowly being revealed that maybe neither of them were aware of before.

Like DeepZone said, she wanted to know what it felt like to have him treat her like an actual woman and not his gofer. And since Veronica is insufferably unbearable in real life, she assumed she'd be able to play that up enough to turn him off so he wouldn't want to meet with her again. It is a weak twist, but I personally am going into this one expecting a lot of typical drama cliché's but done in a slightly more modern way.

I'm still just not sure I agree. That one doctor said that a previous patient of hers could see the woman he loved, and I feel like the drama could be (but maybe not, dramas are fickle) using that to imply that Do Min Ik doesn't actually have any particular romantic feelings towards 'Veronica,' or he would be able to see her. Obviously, it's a complicated and kind of messy plotline, but if they're smart, they'll play it as a situation where he tries to fall for Veronica but can't, because he ultimately already loves Gal Hee, and when he finally is able to see what Veronica looks like, it will be because he either already knows it's Gal Hee pretending, or he's fallen so in love with Gal Hee that he can recognize her no matter what she looks like. But of course, there is no guarantee of that happening, and I am most likely engaging in wish fulfillment, lol.

Kdramas have definitely been trying new things the last few years, which I've been very happy to see. I just get the vibe that this is going to be very much in the vein of the older style of dramas but with subtle tweaks here and there that make those old plotlines and clichés more bearable. Like the male lead not being the biggest pile of poop most of the story until the very end when he decides he really does love the female lead and wins her back without ever actually making a sincere apology........................(I'm only a little bit bitter.) And the female lead being thoughtful and innocent but actually Not a total push-over. I think this drama probably won't re-invent the wheel but will rather use an old formula in a way that is a little bit more palatable and non-infuriating. I'm basically saying that dramas have left me too jaded for hope anymore, lol.

Yeah, cold and a jerk are kind of different descriptors, so I do understand what you mean. I guess they probably just need a different word to describe him, lol.

I think we'd all be surprised the sorts of things we don't normally notice until we're thrust into a situation like his.

I'm not sure there's been any confirmation that his best friend betrayed him? Just some mystery around him and what he's been up to.

7 is fully subbed, but 8 is not totally ready yet.

I don't believe he's going to find out until pretty late in the drama, just from my past experience with Asian dramas, but it would certainly be nice to see.

I understand the frustration, because we all know from previous dramas that plotlines like this can go sideways really fast, but I don't think it's fair to say that the entire concept of her pretending to be someone else is bad. It's all about the execution. I haven't watched the second half of the most recent episode (I refuse to abide by the new episode numbering system, because it's STUPID) so forgive me if I'm speaking out the side of my mouth without having all of the info, but the drama made it pretty clear early on that he's trying to please his mother (stepmother? I can't remember now) and going on the date with Veronica and possibly pursuing her is part of that, so I wouldn't get too hung up on the idea that he likes Veronica Park, or at least who he thinks is Veronica Park. At this point, a lot of it probably has more to do with pleasing his mom/stepmom/wicked witch than anything else, and the person he thinks he's with isn't actually all that terrible, so he's willing to give her a chance. The test for this drama will come a little later when it's time for the writers to deal with the reveal and his coming to terms with his feelings and who he Actually likes. Because at the end of the day, it's not Veronica.

This is actually not a realistic portrayal of facial blindness. Actual facial blindness doesn't mean you can't see faces at all but that you just don't recognize who people are no matter how many times you see them. You see all of their facial features, but those features ultimately don't mean anything to you as your brain cannot correlate them with a particular person. So they've definitely altered the way the illness works here for sake of the story, but I'm not personally bothered by it, as it's not being treated in a negative way.

I would say it is somewhat accurate. No, he's not cruel or heartless or entirely unfeeling, but he is a little selfish. Before he fired her, he expected Gal Hee to be at his every beck and call, even outside of working hours. Then he fired her in a way that was really kind of harsh. I mean, at a work event? Not the appropriate place for that, bro. And he does make thoughtless comments from time to time that are hurtful. He's definitely not the worst 'jerk' male lead out there. I can put up with him very easily. But he's not exactly a nice guy either.

Hm. I was a volunteer for their Dramaclubs, and I don't remember anything about that. I definitely would have joined a dramaclub for this drama, lol.
