One episode to go, and I love it. So compelling and well-written.

I wouldn't consider it unexplored. They become an official couple. It's just treated the same way a lot of real life relationships are, natural without a bunch of fanfare, etc.

I don't really watch Chinese or Thai dramas, so I can't make any suggestions, unfortunately. Hopefully, you're able to find some good ones.

Oooh, ok. That's a good idea. I would definitely read that. I'm trying to branch outside of Korean dramas, so I'm always looking for good show suggestions. You might want to check out Jimi ni Sugoi if you haven't yet. The female lead would be a really good example for the next article.

Might I suggest, though, tweaking the title a bit to The Evolution of Strong Female Leads In KDramaland since all the dramas mentioned are Korean and we might not necessarily see the same thing happening in dramas from other Asian countries? (Just a suggestion, obviously. You can do what you want with your article, lol.)

More just because you can only include so many drama mentions in one article.

It's interesting to see how character tropes in dramas have changed over the years. While I'm not a fan of the hyper focus on creating 'strong female leads' because I think it can have unintended consequences, I am glad to see female leads becoming more diverse and interesting, and yes, stronger in a lot of ways.

They were super unique in Kpop which is part of why it was so sad to see them quit so soon. But yeah, turned out the kind of stuff we've become used to hearing about happening to Kpop groups was also happening to them. Overworked, underfed, too little sleep, left with tons of debt because they were made financially responsible for the group, forced to practice with SAND BAGS tied to their ankles, some not so great stuff.

I've definitely missed Crayon Pop since their disbandment, as they're one of my favorite Kpop groups, so it's nice to get little updates like this about them from time to time. Especially updates that are so wholesome and positive. After watching one of the members doing an interview with Asian Boss on youtube recently, it's probably a good thing they disbanded, and I'm glad to see they appear to be doing well now.

So I love westerns, particularly John Wayne, and I've wanted to check out some good spaghetti westerns for awhile. And Now I want to watch This movie Too, lol. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Wow. How quickly a persons feelings can change, lol. I got maybe halfway through this drama before begrudgingly dropping it, and even though I had it in my on hold queue for months telling myself I'd go back and finish it...I just can't. I really get the criticism of Anna now. I don't think there was anything wrong with the Jae Ha/Anna pairing, but Yoona's acting was So stiff, and Anna ultimately has So little personality, that I definitely understand now why people were shipping Jae Ha with Yoo Jin instead. I still don't like that pairing at all, but I can definitely understand why the ship exists.

Just letting everyone watching this drama know that On Demand Korea appears to have English subtitles on the episodes.

Really wishing the Japanese website for this drama had a section dedicated to the fashion like the website for Deka Wanko does, because I would be screenshotting ALL of her outfits, lol.

Um, so, I lived in Korea for a year, and the taxi thing is kind of true? Large enough town/city and there are taxi's everywhere. Although if you're just going around town or to a town not far away, most people will just take the bus. But yeah, Korea has a lot of taxi's.

Gangnam Beauty definitely has one of the best mother-in-laws of all the dramas I have watched. It's also one of my favorite dramas I've ever watched, so it makes sense that I would like her. I think Queen Bang Young Sun is probably one of the most layered and complex mother-in-laws I've ever seen in a drama. Her reasoning behind her behavior comes from a logical place, and you can understand where she's coming from and have sympathy for her, even if you ultimately disagree with her. I do have to disagree about the mother-in-law in Itazura Na Kiss though. While I think she is one of the least meddly of all of her incarnations, she still drives me up the wall and back down again. Honestly, it's partly her meddling that pushes her son into doing the stupid, unkind, selfish things he does. If she'd just stepped back and given him some breathing space, he might not have run around trying to do the opposite of what everyone wanted him to all the time. She is super sweet to the female lead though, and I do really appreciate that, because no matter which version of this story you watch/read, she pretty much always could use a few more people in her corner supporting her.
