Thank you so much for this very helpful overview. I was always very curious about all the Chinese dramas which have "Novoland" in their titles--were they prequels, sequels, or just sharing features from the same world like "Eternal Love" and "Ashes of Love". This article helped to put the Novoland universe in context. I'm sure there will be a gazillion more shows set in the Novoland universe, so your article's really going to come in handy!

Excuse me for replying to myself, but I feel compelled to warn you, dear reader, that this Lakorn is so bad, it will suck out your soul, and leave your limp skinbag dripping on the floor.
Spoiler, next, so stop here if you don't want to know that
the last 8 episodes of this drama, the FL is raped, kicked, beaten and locked in a chained room, and absolutely no one in the show gives a flying purple damn about her.She is abused by her psychopathic boyfriend, and not even his father who is living in the same house cares about it.
This is a terrible Lakorn, and it won't add a single good thing to your life if you watch it. If you live in Thailand and know the screenwriter of this steaming pile of poop, please give them the finger for me. They deserve it.
Aaaaaaargh. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh. I'm up to episode 12, and this show is disgusting. The characters all seem to be depraved, with values that are extremely elastic. Ja, the FL, is apparently smart enough to be the right hand of a real estate magnate, but too stupid to realize she could take the bahts she spends on designer goods, and maybe buy herself an escape hatch out of the oppressive nightmare of her boss's home. Preferring to marry herself up and out of the slavery she's in, the script has her agree to a living situation she is otherwise much, much too smart to have agreed to, I'm certain the producers have some sort of torture in store for her later, as punishment.
Holy fuckballs, this studio turns out some dreadful shows.
I've only watched two episodes so far, and I like it. I like it a lot. The cinematography is superb. Waiting for new subbed episodes is not going to be easy.
What a silly, ridiculous show. I adore it. Every episode, I'm laughing hard. You watch one episode after another,…
Spoiler/rant coming . . .
I like the character of Faidam: feisty, playful, won't put up with abuse from the obnoxious "ex" girlfriend. The character of Lorndao, her real self, not so much. When the show "pretties" up the FL, they wash away her mischievousness and everything that makes Faidam such a wonderful character. They make it retroactive, too. Faidam slaps the crap out of the evil "ex" girlfriend, but after she's reclaimed her true identity, even when she's in Faidam's identity, the ex is allowed to be abusive to the FL with no push back. I guess "pretty" girls are "good" girls, and "good" girls just get shoved on their asses while they wait for karma to punish people. So annoying.
What a silly, ridiculous show. I adore it. Every episode, I'm laughing hard. You watch one episode after another, nothing really happens, but watching is like eating M & M's--before you know it, you've eaten the whole bag, and you wish there was more. The cast must have had so much fun making it.
I didn't like this lakorn the first twenty times they made it, and now it's cast with the actor who always plays manwhores. Not the tune up this worn out script needs.
There is an entirely different Cdrama titled "Married First, Love Later" that is a melodrama, and has 48 episodes (at least) of 45 minutes each, but this drama pops up when you search on the "Married First, Love Later" title. Soooo confusing.
Yes, I like this. Deeply trashy, but exciting and weird as only Jdramas can do well. The unsubbed episodes I've watched don't make any sense, but I'm pretty sure they won't after they're subbed either.
Fighting, subber! I really hope you continue to sub all the episodes.
I think an important element of this drama is the reversal of dominant male/submissive female. The ML (Bin Bin) is an unwilling servant to the FL, and her commands vs. his obedience is a very funny part of the show. It's going to be fun to watch how this plays out.
What a helpful and useful story. I wondered for a long time about the difference between Wuxia and Xianxia. I figured out the differences, but your article filled in some gaps. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for subbing, Thippy.
If you're planning to watch this, you'll need a high threshold for frustration and the patience of a saint. Not sure the show is worth that, though.
Fighting, subber! I really hope you continue to sub all the episodes.
