see i think twilight is very badly written (books and movies) has terrible effects and some of the worst acting…
What you said. That series, especially the last book in the series (name mercifully forgotten), was awful. The author was so appalled by the idea of premarital sex, she married the FL off at 19. Made me want to pop her one with a banana cream pie.
Meh. Except for Kingdom coming to Netflix, ain't none of these very interesting. I hope the 2nd half of the year is better or else I'm headed for a drama slump.
With out doubt, the best Cdrama I've ever watched. Outstanding performances, direction, cinematography, writing and costumes. In 6 months, I'm going to watch all 70 episodes again. If I can wait that long. This is a Hall of Fame drama.
Two or three of them will get subbed. Of the three which are subbed, one will only be subbed for 8 episodes, leaving two episodes unfinished. But that's okay, because the two that are completely subbed will be the two you least wanted to see. If Viki licenses any of them, they'll be on the "coming soon" page until your children graduate from college.
The subbing on the first season is still unfinished (as far as I know) and it's been years now. I thought about learning the language so I could finish the last few unsubbed episodes. But no.
SATC is a celebration of women, and American women at that. This is not a drama that can be successfully ported to countries with little or no concept of women's sexual freedom. Korea can produce a drama about the friendship between four women--even four dynamic, beautiful, powerful women--and their love for a city (what, Seoul?), but it won't be about women's ownership of their own sexuality and their joyous expression of it. I mean, can you imagine Park Shin Hye with her famous open-eyed, rigid pecks as Samantha?
Two reasons: either DramaFever was not profitable (or profitable enough to outweigh whatever licensing difficulties DramaFever was encountering, such as Kocowa) or the parent company, Warner whatever, wants to repackage/reboot Asian and other programming or spin it off.
Or both.
There is a market for Asian programming. The issue is cutting through the licensing difficulties and designing a model that ensures profitability.
This drama (available now on Netflix) is better than the low ratings here suggest. It is not, however, for anyone who is in the mood for a light watch. It's frequently grim and triggering and there are several rape scenes that are brutal and not at all romanticized.
Show gets almost everything right, with only a few small missteps.
I started watching this in the afternoon, and had to finish it all in one sitting, which really annoyed my dog.
