Idk I didn't read the novel forTBOY. He was supposed to show up in the TBOY drama but his scenes were cut and was a different actor anyway. In DY he goes back to Xueyue city with his disciples and stays there until BDJ's breakthrough top the top of the martial arts lists. And the words he wrote on the mountain were actually on the wall of Xueyue city when he leaves. The drama has changed/speeded up his exit. But he doesn't do anything else significant so it doesn't change anything substantive.

So those are the 4 factions: Japanese, Wang Regime, KMT and CPC. The drama is pretty good so far. It moves fast and I like the fact that no one is a trained operative. They are just ordinary people that got caught up in the tide of history.

Only 7 of the 8 Gongzi are LCS's disciples. Xie Xuan is not. So BDJ is his last or 8th disciple. SKCF, LHY and BDJ are actually Nangong Chunshui's disciples. So BDJ is the only one who is both LCS and NGCS's disciple. There is a difference bc when LCS accepted the eight of them as disciples he was the head of the Jixia academy which is in Tianqi city. Whereas his 3 disciples as NGCS are the three city lords of Xueyue city.

I don’t know I only started reading from the bride snatching chapter but the drama quite closely follows the novel. She is supposed to be a beauty that topples cities and empires so I just take it as YDZ can see better than he can think. I did empathize with her until just about the part of the novel that the drama is at now but I won’t spoil you.
