I have to agree with you on that. I started this show thinking Prince Langya was some kind of unsung hero. But I ended up disliking him. I even read the second half of the book thinking maybe I misjudged him. But I didn't. He reaped what he sowed in TBOY. I feel very sad to say this but it is true. Even though I feel sorry for her, I don't like Yi Wenjun. Never did and never will. I know the drama is trying to make her empathetic and let's see but I don't think it will succeed with me anyway.

Well I have the impression the Tai'an emperor manipulated everything and is the real villain but I am a bit irritated the drama is so indirect about it. He doesn't want any family powerful enough to threaten the Xiao family throne. That is why he let the eunuchs go after BDJ, not knowing of course LCS was still around.

I am not satisfied that the drama has completely avoided showing us who Ruojin is. How can it be battle for the throne when we can't even see who the contenders are and why they are worthy or not worthy? Its very unsatisfactory. If we didn't see him for 30 seconds today, I would have thought he didn't exist or died or was abducted by aliens or something.

So far, the drama has failed to properly explain why the Ye family had to fall.

I am going to guess a previous or maybe even the original identity of Li Changsheng. Remember he is 180 years old... he disappears and reappears as someone else after each "normal" lifetime. But its just a guess idk for sure.

Well I shouldn't spoil you further and in any case, the drama has changed some things here and there from the novel already so its hard to say whether there will be more changes. But in the novel YY is still alive it ends with her and BDJ heading back to Qiandong to get married.

If it follows the novel, there is no fight between BDJ and YDZ and YY does not die. That only happens in TBOY.

I dropped all the originals so I didn't bother with any of the remakes.😅😂

You mean the remake of Chinese Paladin? Tbh I don't hold it against him. Even the great Hu Ge was terrible in that role - it is just a dreadful story idk why they remade it. I loved him in Shen Li - he was MVP in that.
