I wonder why she was crying. Did she love Sun Jing? Or was she sad because she will never see her son again and can't be there to see him reclaim his birthright? She must really trust Li Ni completely not to renege and seize power for himself to do such a thing.

He is a powerless child. Li Ni's father has already crowned himself emperor and effectively dispossessed him. Li Ni's eldest brother will inherit from his father. The only way the kid can reclaim the throne is with a strong army behind him. Otherwise he may as well be dead. Cui Army will support him but they by themselves can't prevail if Li Ni with his Zhenxi army defends his King Liang's claim. It will just be civil war. But together Cui Army and Li Ni are effectively emperor makers.

is a boring, tropey kind of villain so I was really hoping he was dead. But it was almost worth it to see him come back just to get stabbed in the heart by that proposal.

Without Li Ni's support, the young emperor can't reclaim, much less hold on to the throne anyway. He needs him. Li Ni's legitimate bros are a bigger threat. And by that logic, the last emperor should have killed all his brothers and their kids including Li Ni's father's entire line.

Yes Sun Jing is definitely the more interesting villain. I almost think it’s boring to focus on such a tropey bad guy I wish they really killed him off.

I think she was quite disappointed with her bro for what he pulled but felt guilty after he saved her life at the cost of his own. It was Cui Li that was behind it, Zhenxi army just arguably didn’t do much to rescue them but it’s not their job to do that.

I think it would be completely unacceptable for Li Ni to save someone whose betrayal directly led to many of his men’s death. Hopefully at some point she gets that instead of thinking her asshole bro has a better right to live.

Yeah I understand she is mourning her brother but Li Ni doesn't deserve to be lashed out at like that.

What the Young Master did was beyond vile but at least it is a wake up call for Li Ni and a reminder of how high the stakes are. Because he did kind of get distracted from the end game for a little bit there.

Well I don't think it's that believable that Sun Jing allowed him to be cremated intact after Li Ni cut off Duke Zheng's head. I would have thought he would have appeased his wife by allowing her to take this petty revenge on King Liang/Li Ni by cutting off King Liang's head. Even if you don't think this is a bit of a plot hole, it is clear that Li Ni took a huge risk. It played out but it could have just as well have gone very badly wrong. So I agree his dad is an asshole but I also kind of understand why he is pissed off as hell.
