I don't see this drama on the main page of wetv.vip. Why is that? Are they not promoting it?
Idk - It’s on my main page. I suspect in some regions they didn’t or haven’t completed all the local copyright procedures so they don’t highlight it.

Well, he never did want the throne anyway, why would he hurry up and go to the capital anyway? He seems to want…
that once he goes to lay siege to the capital his father is most likely dead. There aren’t going to be many good ways out of that. So I am sure he is in no hurry or maybe intends to attempt a low key rescue first.

Cui family is not his enemy they have the same goal of restoring the Imperial Grandson to the throne. They just want to get the merit from the deed and improve their standing in court. And they may fear Li Ni intends to seize the throne for himself but we know he doesn’t.

All of the Li family remnants are a threat to Sun Jing but Li Ni is the biggest one bc although he is 3rd in line to the throne, he has an army behind him. His father is only alive bc Sun Jing intends to use him against Li Ni. Li Ni needs to build up his army and find the Imperial Grandson. Those are his two priorities. I am afraid however

It’s a total role reversal. Kind of funny to see audience reactions to it once the shoe is on the other foot.

I think he made his voice tone deeper for the role. One shall ask Chinese people if his intonation is good.
Lol they were being salty and it was kind of funny but true. He is in places trying too hard to sound tough it doesn’t sound that natura so I get their point.

I am quite sure ZLH dubbed himself in MJTY as well. He didn’t do that great a job which is probably why he didn’t get that many lines. GJM
Is a movie directo - their standards are much higher. . I would be shocked if everyone didn’t self dub. Small side roles are usually dubbed so I wouldn’t be surprised Re the maids.

Hehehe someone on Douban said he sounds like a cow! I personally think so far both he and Bai Lu are doing a great job but he doesn’t have as many lines in the 3 episodes I have watched so far.

Hmm did Xiewei get to replay his life too? Is that why he’s so threatening to Xuening?
I guess they are all replaying their lives but you are asking does he also remember the previous life?

Yeah I am not a fan of this director's camera work at all. He's never shot any drama that I have ever thought was visually impressive.

Consort Xiao, what is her identity? She looks so evil Is she related to Li Ni? His aunty i guess?
She is Li Ni's aunt by marriage to his uncle, the late crown prince.
She is just trying to save all of her husband's offspring - she smuggled her son the Imperial Grandson out of the palace and she was trying to smuggle the pregnant concubine Jiang(?) disguised as a maid out as well.

Yeah so it is possible he is pretending to be Cui Lin and she is the real one. I don't remember the drama ever introducing her as Cui Lin. She was only introduced as Lieutenant He of the Cui Army.

I assume the Crown Prince just hadn’t gotten round to naming his heir bc his son is only 7 and he had no expectation of dying anytime soon. I believe Consort Xiao was demoted from Crown Princess once her husband died so that the Grand Governor can make her his consort. She was introduced as the Former Crown Princess. I assume she is the mother of the imperial great grandson but it is also possible he is the son of a consort and not of the legitimate wife. That would explain why he wasn’t named as heir yet bc the eldest son of the legitimate wife is the legitimate heir. If the legitimate wife has no sons of her own she “adopts” the son of a concubine who then becomes the heir. In any case this was not an issue that had to be addressed until after the crown Prince ascends the throne.

In real history, Zhu Yuanzhang the founding Ming emperor was the first to formally clarify the rules of primogeniture based succession long followed by most Chinese dynasties. The crown prince's line succeeds even in the case the crown prince dies before he can ascend the throne. Zhu Yuanzhang outlived his eldest son Zhu Biao, the crown prince and he was succeeded by Zhu Biao's son, his grandson who reigned as the short lived second Ming emperor. He passed over his more capable and favorite fourth son Zhu Di who was regarded as the more appropriate successor because he was very clear that once Zhu Bian had an heir, that heir is next in line. The uncle ended up rebelling and overthrowing his nephew to become the third Ming emperor but his rule was widely regarded as illegitimate and he dedicated many resources to hunt down his nephew's rumoured surviving children. This is how it worked in real history. Both the recent Imperial Age and Pledge of Allegiance are based on this succession conflict. Not sure about those fiction novel writers and how knowledgeable they are about history. Nonetheless, obviously you can make the case for either, which is why you get these battle for the throne stories. But Li Ni himself when he denied his father (and thus his) right to succeed was very clearly quoting these established rules of primogeniture. It is the exact same logic as if Prince William dies before King Charles, his son and not Prince Harry is next in line to be King of England even though that dreadful Meghan Markle would definitely try to seize the throne for Harry.
