Yes both CX and XY are unwavering (so far) in their goal, which is bigger than love. They want to bring peace to Dahuang so that no other child has to lose their parent forever. And they both are willing to pay the price for that - neither is free to love in an unrestrained way. XY wants her lover to choose her with no conditions but what she can give in return is very conditional. Jing is her choice only by elimination. No one else can meet her criteria - so far not even Jing although he is willing to try. I won't really describe that as a choice. So as YZ said, XY has no choice. This is a story about a bunch of very sad people.

That is exactly how I saw it. She already pledged most of herself to support CX and his vision of the world. What she has left to give is not much and yet she asks for a lot in return. That doesn't leave her much choice. She can never for example choose someone in conflict with CX whom she swore to protect and support. Actually CX is the male version of Xiaoyao but I love that the story chose to focus on her and not CX. I think YZ really understands XY so well she is XY.

I feel the little one could actually be higher in the lineage but is just vertically challenged. Bc the brother asks him for permission on what ingredients to use on ZY.

I only read 2 chapters and yes they are very close but the book is more specific and detailed. Like it says Gong ZiShang is the eldest and only Shang line daughter. And for things like YWS identity it says she was surprised at the coincidence that Yun family daughter's name is the same as hers. That the mud fight was to get the token which has the word Chi on it etc. It fleshes out lots of details. Someone posted the book say Yun Que is her adopted sister but I didn't see that part but I did speed through it. I didn't buy the paid chapters bc I am pretty sure my friend who gets lots of free books bc of her work will give me a free printed copy at some point and I dislike reading online anyway.

I think they may try their luck bc this happened this year in The Knockout also. They just apologised and went back to erase it later but their airing didn't get affected.
