Yeah the first 2 chapters of the book are very interesting bc some stuff comes across more clearly. Like Yasi was very empathetic to forget who she was and to never never stray from her identity as YWS. But it looks like she is purposely doing that. not just in confiding in Ziyu but also with this move in the back mountain. It is like she is disobeying/testing why Yasi would be so strong on this point.

Edited - Ep 1 of the drama at 10:00 ,mark and in the first chapter of the novel, YWS is told by Yasi that she is the Yun family of Lixi Town's only/sole daughter 独生女。This does not contradict her description in ep 5 as their eldest daughter 长女 but it does mean she absolutely does not have a younger sister.

Yes, it looks more likely Lady Wuji going by age but I don't think Jin Fan is that young that he can be ruled out bc of age. He was already a Guardian during the trial 10 years ago.

Both spies have done dumb things. They are in an environment they can't control with very little knowledge to guide them. It would be super boring and not make sense for them to not miscalculate. That doesn't make them dumb they are just operating on limited knowledge. They are like all the wild theories going on in this thread right now, most of which will look "dumb" by that same logic but are in fact just all educated guesses based on the facts known so far.

I wondered about that too but I suspect it may be that they only started to use the worms after they started to force conscript spies.
