Yeah Netflix doesn’t pay well for non-exclusive deals and I am pretty sure they didn’t buy TLP in all regions. IQiyi almost went bust they can’t afford to write off their content like Tencent and Youku can. No one likes selling their content to Netflix but the ad market in China is very weak right now.

Tencent licensed TLP to Netflix, which basically means they won’t sell ads on it so they can pretty much drop it all at once. The whole show is behind a paywall, so no non VIP. iQiyi rarely licenses anything to Netflix bc they are competing fiercely head to head in SE Asia and iQiyi poached Netflix’s SE Asia head. So iQiyi wants to keep selling ads on this and uses the extended airing schedule to do so.

She is dubbed by the same voice dubber that dubbed Zhou Ye /Gu Xiang in Word of Honor.

The empress doesn’t know how to wield her power. The emperor only has one heir and one that is revered by the kingdom. Even if ShinYing killed the concubine so what? She is nothing but a lowly merfolk - the emperor will be pissed but he will get over it. The concubine’s actions also make no sense. She has more power if she waits till after she gives birth to another son to make a power play. And to just die like that without knowing if her plan succeeds??! So her timing also seems off. I know a bit of the back story from Mirror Twin Cities but it still looks like flimsy motive for the concubine and a drastic over reaction from the empress.
