ROFL Whenever she is on screen, I question why Qian Luo is the chosen one for Xiao Se.
I notice in real life as well. People who are very similar tend to hate each other.

XS and RY will bore each other to death. Shudders.

I really enjoy Liu Xueyi as WuXin. Imo, he's the best actor among the main leads. He's a solid actor.
What I find hilarious is they used a very young, newbie actress as Qianluo and that is not working out for people either.... I am happy to say I am not bothered at all by either although it is clear Liu Xueyi's acting is really at a different level.

Yes he looks more and more secular as he goes along. Fully ordained monks have a vow of poverty so their dress style would be much more plain.

Lei Wu Jie is the main character. Can't convince me otherwise lol
I like Wujie and Wuxin the most so far. Xiao Se is kind of boring and I don't like how he puts his head down all the time. I wish the director would just let Li Hongyi interpret the character in his own way rather than try to project the same aura as Chengyi's Sifeng from L&R. But at least he is not spitting blood - thankful for the small things.

He was held hostage by the empire for 12 years but in the custody of his shifu at the monastery. Had his shifu not intervened and he had been in royal custody I am not sure he would have lived to this age.

I think the 9th prince appears together with 2nd prince in episodes 17 or 18 at the assassins place. Wuxin’s story is a few episodes before that - the 7th prince goes to meet him at his sect and gets him to come out. The mothers story is not clear but it seems the emperor abducted her from Wuxin’s father and made her a consort.

Wuxin is just a novice he hasn’t taken permanent vows yet. I guess you should be able to tell from his dress code but the difference is not properly explained. This is likely because he must choose his own path whether he returns to be leader of his sect and live a more secular life or return to the monastery.

No 2 Lord Bai / Chong clearly wants the throne but he may at least have some principles and I think he has some affection for Chuhe esp if he stays Xiao Se. The 9th prince is the young smart alec allied with the 2nd prince who went to The Dark River disguised as Chuhe.

I think the arrow shooter Lord Chi is actually the 7th Prince: This one is really duplicitous and he is Wuxin’s half brother… I think he is the baddest of the lot so far.

I was wondering if Wuxin wild have a love interest as well? The others have one so it would be nice if he didn't…
Wuxin’s story has many similarities with that of Xuzhu from Demi-Gods. His also had teo besties Qiao Feng and Dian Yu, one who was a prince. And he was incredibly powerful and the reluctant leader of a sect who preferred to be at the monastery.

It is heavily rumoured for January. Tencent actually wanted to push it out late last yer.... I even have the official countdown T-shirt bc the merchandise was already licensed and was being sold when they were told to delay it.

Some of the scenes from ZYZ and LHY recall TMOPB/Mo Yuan and the female god of war he fights with all the time. Its like an alternate universe where they fall in love in the Peach Blossom universe.

Yeah it is Tiananmen Square that is still heavily censored. Difficult book to adapt though. And the translated version changes the opening. I mean it’s in the original but in a different order. So the Tencent drama may follow the book order from the Chinese version.

Yes, it is the same actor as emperor and I believe there are some very clear allusions to NIF. In NIF the emperor…
In NIF Lin Shu was the emperor’s nephew. I think LWJ is more like Jing Wang personality- obtuse and clueless about the hidden identity and his parents died for Langya Wang’s cause. Their personalities and identities were kind of flipped. Langya Wang the emperors brother is more like Qi Wang who was the deposed crown Prince in NIF. And LWJ’’s father/parents was more like Lin Shu’s father.
