Yeah I was not impressed by Yuqi's acting for the first 14 episodes but the good character design got me through it. Now that she has toned down the crazy eye rolling and face twitching I am enjoying it a lot more. Unfortunately they still had to sneak in a dumb female character- that maid. Geez.

I only read some reviews of the novel and I decided to watch this bc I love dark characters and political plotting. Kind of sad to hear Xiao Duo has been whitewashed though I can't say I am that surprised. Not a huge fan of romance so it doesn't really matter that much to me how it shakes out.
