Lol - Wuji was MIA in the 2019 version and yes, the fight scenes were terrible. Tony Leung version had the most Yummy Zhang Cui Shan ever. In that one I really thought Wuji's parents story eclipsed Wuji and Zhao Min's story. It was by far the best Heaven Sword. Even the legendary Zhang Sanfeng was perfectly cast.

😂😂😂 That was my first reaction to 2019 Heaven Sword. Worst Zhang Cui Shan ever. I kept thinking please kill him off asap. But Lin Yushen is really the best Yang Xiao ever - just skip to those parts.

Well IMHO he really just shouldn't wear anything on top. Its a crime to cover up that torso.

Let's see - we haven't really seen her arc yet.

She is a weak character in the book - worse than Nan Lan in some ways. She allowed Fu Kangán to fool around with her, married Xu Zheng when she discovered she was pregnant and allowed him to raise someone else's kids. She knew Shang Baozhen was interested in her and strung him along as well until it ends in disaster with him killing her husband. She then tries to marry Fu Kangan as a concubine or something but I think his mother or his wife poisons her. At least I think that is what happens but there were many adaptations that changed the storyline quite significantly from the book for many characters. I saw some of them years ago and I get confused with what exactly happened to many of the side characters.

I think that Shang Baozhen (who also likes her) kills him. But this part I don't remember that clearly.

Actually in the opening credits, he is listed as something like special guest lead. His billing is right after the three main leads. This is more an MDL issue bc they are either main leads or they are support there is no in between.

Yes indeed. I am happy to see him and everyone else try. Now that the sets are not as busy bc so many production companies went bust I actually hope to see more live recording. I mean that's the way it should be done and actors should all know how to go the whole nine yards.

I hate to say it but he looked like he wandered off the set of Downtown Abbey. His voice acting is severely lacking. Its monotonous and lacking emotional emphasis - when he said I am sorry to do this to you he didn't sound sorry AT all. But he is definitely trying he got rid of the sighing and he is trying very hard to rub out his Shandong dialect. Its definitely better than Forever and Ever but he has a long way to go before he can get close to emulating Bian Jiang's effortless sexy beast tone.
