I agree WXS is not consistently written itâs like the writer is just using him as a device to advance the plot. Like he is not thoughtful at all when he frees Guan Qi. Yet he quite cleverly saves Fu Zongshu but the act itself is not explained and once again shows questionable judgement. Maybe itâs just intended to show he is merciful or maybe just still very young and not fully realized being.

I donât think they are that consistent on power levels. Like it took five of them to gang up on Guam Qi and they werenât easily winning. And then WXS maims him and could have killed him solo but in their prior combats he couldnât beat him. Itâs not that logical. And he kills him with a baby sword too. That part cracked me up. I am ok with him not being the top fighter. It is about the journey and itâs more realistic. In Jin Yongâs novels Guo Jing never beat the old masters either - they just couldnât beat him in under a certain number of moves.

They are both very good. Day Breaker is not a casual watch you have to pay attention but itâs good. Heroes is a true blue wuxia and it is excellent except the FL pouts all the time. But she isnât important the other characters make up for her. I think itâs better than both TBW and WRTW in terms of plot and storytelling but of course no big name anchor actors.

Did you read the books? How is the adaptation so far, aside from Wang Xiaoshi? I never have high expectation of the ML for classic wuxias. I am tempted to read the books but its so many books I don't have time. I did skim enough to know that the FL in it isn't super annoying so I hear you on the screenwriter.
