I can't believe episode 27. Yue Qin is getting 97% airtime, and Jing He, 3% airtime. The storyline has gone off the rails. The mad king has some good points. 🤣🤣🤣 I assume that Mei Lin has seen the last of Xiyan for the time being. Yue Qin was bloodletting females slave servants to get a blood match for Mei Lin. At least he got flogged for his piety.

It must be when CP coup was a failure. I was not engaged in the CP Lou Mei story.

I think I dropped the last three dramas. I couldn't find anything of interest for three weeks until this drama started. I have stuck with Kill Me Love Me. I like the two main leads. Their characters are conflicted at times. Par for the course! 😁😁😁

Mei Lin might have to slap Yue Qin around like Lou Mei did to Xuan Lie. That scene was one of the highlights of the drama plot, btw. Haha! Haha!

Yes! When they first went to the village, the villagers assumed they were husband and wife. JH and ML told them that they were brother and sister. Wen wanted to marry her after she cured him of the poison. When Wen saw them in the Perfume garden recently, he asked if they were Prince Heir and Princess Heiress. Mei Lin said that JH was Governor, and Wen asked if they were husband and wife. I was wondering if JH and ML had finally told the villagers that they were not siblings.

She (...Mei Lin) should slap him (...Yue Qin) around, like Lou Mei slapped Xuan Lie.

At least, he figures out they were not brother and sister. Did they tell him?

When you write, you could use a document program with built-in spelling and grammar which help fix errors. I helped edit some fan fic for a lady once, but it is was many years ago. She used google.doc, which I believe is free to use.

Jing He sent Mei Lin away with Yue Qin because he needed Yue Qin to give him the antidote to save Emperor. Does Mei Lin know this? Why did Emperor promote her to Princess?

So, the writer cut out the CP from the drama early? I am hoping he really drank poison, and will not return from the dead, LOL

It felt to me like CP's role dragged. There were some scenes where he looked tense and manipulative, but he wasn't forceful. If he was conflicted, you did not see it. You could not tell if he was using Lou Mei's military family connection or if he was in love with her.

King Xian seems unscrupulous and shifty in episode 24, when Yu Qin and Mei Lin were presented to him. Who is the enemy in the war?

I started to play episode 24 on 2X speed, after sitting through 19 to 23 in real speed. Now that Que Yin is stepping forward, I feel that his marriage subplot will be predictable.

That book plot would have been a tough sell to viewers. The paraplegic ML might work as a movie plot, but not as a 30 to 40 episode drama.

The revamped drama plot is very effective and interesting, except for the Xiyan tribe. I would have liked if the writers had given Jing He's alter ego (aka secret identity) a broader storyline. He had three or four short scenes only.

I wrote a drama script, and it took me fifteen years to formulate the final plot. I might have had five iterations of the plot over time. It's sitting in my computer, resting. I probably could have attempted to convert it into a book, but I am not good at descriptive writing. Dialog writing was easier, but that does not capture the quirks and idiosyncrasies of the characters. If you have a germ of an idea, you could start writing. It was nice chatting with you today.
