I have some understanding for her action even if I disagree with her.
Personally, I wasn't impressed by the behaviour of the FL either.
They both come off in a bad light.

While I don't agree with what she did I can understand her.
I don't think the behaviour of the FL is acceptable either.
I read subtitles, so i don't know what the original word means. Is it assistant, or mentee?
FL certainly didn't behave like a mentor imo. And while I wouldn't go as far as saying she abused her power, she certainly behaved from a position of strength towards someone weaker.

Thoughts on E1 incident:

I hope Koreans can correct me if I am making a mistake.
The translation referred to the lady who accused SHS character initially as assistant, but later as "mentee".
Of course a person can be both, but "mentee" is much more important than assistant, because it implies that the senior person has seen a potential in the junior one and they are working on improving them and eventually promoting them. The relationship also tend to be cordial and friendly since the senior person is partly making an emotional investment. Rightly or wrongly, seniors tend to pick people who they like to mentor.
Now, in the series, I failed to see such relationship between the two. It looks like she was purely an assistant. Also,4 years seems to me is an awful lot of time to mentor someone and still not willing to give them a chance. To me, no matter how I look at it, it reflects badly on the senior person. They are either poor judges of ability, or just poor teachers.
To me, the incident painted both characters in a negative way.
SHS character while didn't strictly speaking "abuse her power" (the charge according to translation) she certainly didn't behave appropriately towards her junior. There is huge imbalance of power.
The assistant didn't behave greatly as well, but I can understand her more even if I don't agree with her. Her behaviour is basically "Cutting off your nose to spite your face"

That door scene was very funny indeed lol.

I totally agree that this is not like HTCC. Just because location might be similar doesn'tmean the drama is.
However, I don't think characters (so far at least) are more interesting than HTCC. Actually, I would say the opposite.
By the way, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the first 2 episodes, because I did.
And Shin Hye Sun is far better actress than Shin Min Ah IMO (although Shin Min Ah is more attractive lol). SHS is really very good actress who can play all kind of roles very well.

Forget the chemistries between all these young beautiful people in various Kdramas, because the best chemistry is between Deok Sun parents lol.
My GOD! these two REALLY look like husband and wife lol. Their scenes (especially bickering) are always fantastic.

Fair enough. Comedy is very personal, and unique to each person.

If you didn't find E1 funny, and you were watching for comedy, then this is certainly not for you.
It is pitty, because I think Shin Hye Sun give a genuinely extraordinary performance. I am not eggagerating when I say it is the best I have seen in my life in similar situation (a woman playing a man in woman's body) in ANY language. And, I am a middle aged person who have seen tons of similar stuff.
But, hey, life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff :)

Maybe the drama is not for you if you are struggling so much with E1.

But, it is also a bit hard to advise without knowing why you are not liking E1? Personally, I LOVE E1, and it is one of my top episodes of th series. I have re-watched it so many times, and I still get entertained by it.
Very roughly speaking, I would say the first 7 episodes have similar vibe, but the show gradually start to shift from mostly comedy to other things. The comedy is still there, but there will be other things.

Oh! I don't watch previews. I also don't watch trailers. And I didn't read the synopsis either.
Basically, I like to go into shows with extremly little information.
Anyway, that is cool to know.

If they actually swap powers, and suddenly he has to experience what is it to be human.
It will also make for fun dynamics.

First episode was above average. Not fully hooked, but curious enough.
The end of E1 was very interesting.

I would say the end is bittersweet rather than outright sad.
Mind you, imo, the best relationship in this series wasn't the romantic one.
Unless you want only 100% happy ending then you should certainly watch it. It has so much more than just a romance.

After 4 episodes.
The series is great, but I am SOOOOOOOO ANNOYED by that goat noise they add. I normally don't mind these noises they add in Kdrama, but in this series it is excessive and very annoying.

Anyway, the show itself is great, and since I was about the same age as these characters in 1988 (not in Korea though) it is VERY nostalgic.
The parents of the main girl are such fantastic actors. The father is SOO good.

Yes. She is not there because she is cute. She actually acted well.

Personally, I hope for the opposite.
A second season will most likely concentrate on following up the thread in the post credit scene (I don't want to spoil)..
To me, this is not very interesting (maybe tiny bit). The thing that made the series very good is the relationship between Ro Hee and Myung Joon. That storyline has concluded. Of course you can stretch it, but it will not be as good.
For that reason, I hope they stop now.

Apart from the leads, the acting was passable to outright bad.
I didn't hate it. I mean I finished it, but only because the ML & FL are charming in their own way. It also moved at relatively fast pace.
But, it is very, very forgettable.

How is that?
He got back to his own world in his own body and gender.
He said many many times during the series that he is missing being a man, and whenever he was the dominant personality in the earlier parts of the series he wanted to be with women.

I am NOT against gay love. Lots of my all time favourite movies and books have homosexual/bisexual relationships. (on that note: the movie Portrait of a lady on fire is Excellent! )
I just don't think Jang Bong Hwan had romantic feelings for the king. That was So young re-asserting her personalinty over her body.

If things would have remained the same, then So young and him would be constantly battling over the same body. How would that be a better end?
Or, you "kill" So yong, and make Jang Bong Hwan bisexual towards the very end. Is that really better?
I think the end was as good as it gets.

It is hard to tell. I think you can still enjoy parts of it, but not all to be honest.
I think you need to grab the remote control. When the leads are together it is fun to watch even if you know the end. In my opinion the heart of the story is the relationship between these two. But, you can skip over all the mystery parts since you already know how it ends.

You have no idea how sick I am from the who is KiHo question haha (no offence to anyone who find it interesting)

This show gets even better on multiple rewatches.
Everytime you discover more gems. I wish the screenplay is translated to English, or the writer decide to rework it as a novel.
The dialogues and thoughts in it are fantastic.
